Prime1 Giger Alien (Big Chap)

So this piece is gradually making its way to all time best status for me. The size, paint, sculpt, pose, base, wall, and source material it’s based on make this easily one of the top if not the top statue I have ever owned.

Oh I had an issue. Secret Compass didn't have one of my payments for $150 I had to go and find the transaction date and code. It was actually quite sketchy if you want me to be honest.

Have many people here have ordered the P1 Warrior 1/3? Think it'll be as popular and become a sought after piece like the dog and big chap?

I think the Warrior piece is beautiful. Had the base not been such a Space eater I probably would have ordered it.

I have no idea if it will be as popular. The problem with the Warrior is that it lacks personality in the film. Big Chap and Dog got their own movies and behaved in specific ways. The Warrior was more like cannon fodder in Aliens. The Queen was the star. Just my guess why it might not be as popular as the other Two.

Yeah I have decided I think it is better than the dog. The paint is better and of course it's the 79 Alien. The bust is gorgeous too even if I have to use museum putty.

Yeah it sucks man but not much I can do.. the anger stage has worn off into acceptance. I think I'd only be furious again if they can't even supply me a damaged one..

I just dig the design -- the ridges, the highlight scheme, the "face" -- everything about it. Hasn't been done justice in large scale yet IMO. Maybe the Prime 1 will be it, although I was gutted when the CoolProps was cancelled as that one also had promise.

Absolutely furious. After months of talking with Shane and telling him a might need time to pay the remainder of the order he "gave away" my DX.. This was after probably 2-3 times he reassured me they will hold it as long as communication was clear. We've had floods ect here in Australia so I went a few weeks without work which ate into savings. The invoice April 5th, emailed April 5th that I was about 1-2 weeks away.. I paid last night and just received an email saying I'm not getting it.

Furious.

Damn that sucks man. Hope your doing alright, and safe from the crazy rain and floods. Praying you get one of these somehow, sometimes things work out in a very strange way. I love this statue but was unable to get one, here's hoping you get one soon and in good shape.

But yeah, I'm sure there's some reason this is happened. Maybe it's the universes way on telling me to actually start saving for my own house lmao

I know right, the neomorph wasn't my cup of tea.

I just checked and there is still no ES on their site, which is weird because you'd think by now they would have figured that out by the PO's. It still says it's coming sometime this year though.

I'm still waiting for the second box to arrive. Not sure why it wasn't just sent with a single courier tbh.

Really nice to see how happy people are who have received it though, I haven't been excited in this hobby for quite a while, I am now between this and the 1/3 JH.

Piece like this I would never want to have it shipped international via usual UPS or FedEx!

The simple answer to that is that I waited too long. I always wanted this, but the price put me off. I find quite often these days that as much as I might want something after the reveal, if I just hold off pre ordering for a few months, that desire sometimes goes away and I save money. It's been working well for the last 4 or 5 years tbh. This had the opposite effect however, the more time went on, the more I found myself liking it even more. But by the time I decided to just bite the bullet and pay up the high price to get one, they were all sold out everywhere. That sellout seemed to happen super quickly with this one. Likely due to the huge ES cut, combined with early production shots looking good. I thought I'd missed out, and while I'd rather not have shipped this thing 5000 miles, I also couldn't pass up a second chance when it presented itself. The base turned up fine, but I guess that's the easy part. It's over to USPS and Parcel force my end now. Fingers crossed!

Your lighting solution is fantastic, very well-done.

I only found out not long ago that the big chap has a larger head than the warrior after getting the 1:1 Warrior bust from sideshow and putting it next to a big chap 1:1 bust. I'll show a photo of it below.

I had no idea how absolutely huge that Big Chap 1:1 bust is...I also have that old-school Aliens 1:1 bust from Sideshow and I always thought it was the biggest bust I'd ever see. Amazing.

I hadn't actually thought about that, but now you mention it, I think this will be the most expensive statue I'll own when it arrives. I've ordered the 1/3 Jungle Hunter, but obviously that won't be here any time soon. I think the coolprops 1:1 Big chap head was my most expensive up until now. Scary really when you actually stop and think about how much they actually cost. But at the same time, I've saved thousands by simply using the method above and waiting. I can mention at least 6 statues without even thinking about it that I would definitely have pre-ordered a few years ago, but I held off and just never bought them ultimately. There will be lots of others also, I might actually have a look later to see what I passed on and how much I saved

This hobby can really suck you in if you let it. I'm at the point where I'd much prefer to have a few really impressive (expensive) statues, than lots of less expensive ones. Something like @jaklynfiorhollyw 's beautiful wall of Aliens impresses me way more than a room with a hundred statues crammed in every corner. My aim now is something like that with Predators also. And obviously the odd random statue here and there, I do have quite a few although might actually sell some now. I only really regret not getting the Dog, I'm perfectly happy with passing on the rest, can't win them all....

IDK if you have ever owned it or seen it in person, but I think the one that takes the cake is the Predalien bust. It is the biggest I have come across and robs a good percentage of my shelf space.
