Scary really when you actually stop and think about how much they actually cost.

What's scarier are the problems that accompany these as of late. I wouldn't mind paying top dollar for a select few characters I'm passionate about, but they need to be without issue. I'm referring to QC and packaging mishaps here, the usual 10-20% decrease in detail is to be expected.

That's why the City Hunter's been such a sore spot. I got a discount and am working to make the factory's half-assed fixes look thoughtful and intentional, but I'd rather have paid full price for something that didn't require that. The second something better comes along, it will be replaced. I can begrudgingly accept having to seal an otherwise beautiful statue, but anything else is pushing it. I'm usually a box-fresh collector, the only mods I like making are non-destructive and reversible.

Have many people here have ordered the P1 Warrior 1/3? Think it'll be as popular and become a sought after piece like the dog and big chap?

Like the Big Chap, I ordered him intending to keep the bust and sell the rest. But if the statue blows my mind (and is actually 30" tall like it looks -- not 26" like Prime 1 says), it would be a great companion piece for the 1/3 Jungle Hunter.

Well this is of course true. And while Prime have clearly had a dip in many ways (Which I hope they can reverse!) I have to say in fairness, I have two of their products currently, both of which are among the best in my collection. I'm obviously hoping that will be three for three next week. I guess the point is that while they aren't up to the super high standards they once were, they aren't a complete write off either. I'd still take a Prime 1 collectible over Sideshow, HCG and PCS etc any day. That said, if they want to continue to price their prodcucts more like ECC and Queen for example, they do need to find that old standard again...

Oh have they. out of curiosity, which ones have been misses lately? I haven't really been following them as they don't make much from licenses I buy from. I only had one item from them, the Grey Alien bust. That was really cool, I kind of regret selling it...

ECC owns their factory, so that's not the case with them. It is however with P1. Lots of factory burned bridges (including ECC factory)

No kidding about the boxes. I have three statues that account for 7 over sized boxes. It’s a relief to get something like the symbiote spider man pf in the Mail with its small box.

I feel bad even saying this given how many of you have been so unlucky, but mine finally arrived and it is phenomenal! Now firstly it didn't arrive fully perfect, but given what we've been seeing I've definitely got off lucky and it's all resolvable. And I should say that I've been so busy that I simply haven't had time to look at it properly so I might find some smaller issues. But I had an hour to open it up and assemble it last night and it's just huge and impressive!

The foot had fully kicked through the poly box, my heart sank and I didn't really want to continue opening it, but I persisted and to my surprise, the only damage to that area was a broken toe nail. It also has the rubbed off paint from the knee as many do. And some missing paint (Or maybe excess glue) on the closed mouth head. Also the wall doesn't really fully slot in, but it's in enough that you can't really notice and I have no desire to remove it again (It's so big and heavy!) Oh and the 4 small tubes on the heads don't fit properly, I need to heat them up and reshape them a little. That is all I noticed about the bad parts, the rest is all positives.

From what little I've seen, this thing is genuinely in a different league to any other statue I have, it's a beast, a big, beautiful, creepy beast! It's my first 1/3 statue and I was not prepared for just how large and heavy it all is. Every statue in my current collection (Mostly 1/4 Predators etc) Can be relatively easily moved around as I please, not this thing! Setting it up was actually a nervy experience in some ways, but once it's together, it's just so impressive! I'm going to have to change my mindset if I'm going this route with statues like this and the upcoming JH. I'm going to have to get them built up where I want them in the knowledge that they are very much staying there unless I want to fully dismantle them to be moved. Speaking of the 1/3 JH, the thing has opened my eyes as to just how large and unmanageable that will be! But the quality of this also has me feeling a bit more positive about it.

Even the bust is staggering from the right angles, I almost didn't even bother with the DX because I preferred the closed mouth head in pics etc. But I'm so glad I did. It looks so good, as does the open mouth head on the statue. The bust could have been an exciting release all on it's own, although it is very unstable! It needed a wider and heavier base for sure, I guess the prototype heads were a lot lighter as I'm not sure how that got passed the planning stage otherwise.

I will look at this properly over the weekend and snap some pictures. I just had to get my initial opinion in and that's mostly just awe. But I am so sorry again for all of my fellow collectors who didn't get so lucky, the packaging on this definitely wasn't up to the standard of the statue inside of it and that's such a shame! I hope you all get some kind of satisfactory resolution.

Congratulations, Python! Thanks for the detailed account, I'll brace myself for an especially unwieldy hunk of polystone tonight. It's true that collecting these kinds of pieces will require a change in perspective.

I actually received the 1/4 Sideshow Queen Alien bust this morning, an impressively-sized piece in its own right, and as with the Prime 1 City Hunter, I thought "why does one need anything bigger than this?" If the Big Chap turns out to be a dud, at least the Queen is a banger.

Even as someone with the Big Chap and Warrior on order, I still hope that Prime 1 releases these beasts in 1/4 as well. I'd swap orders in a heartbeat. They'd be massive successes and much less of a logistical headache.

Mine arrived no damage. Part of it looked like it had been opened and resealed. Some of the foam corners were even taped to the art box and inside the plastic bag. The shipper box had a big cut going across one corner enough to see the statue inside. There was also a hole or two punched in it. There was some rubber grommet inside from whatever caused the hole. Like others have said it’s different in person. I still may tone those stripes down. I also have trouble inserting the red tube into the open mouth version. I suspect the red paint caused the hole to be smaller. It is also a huge statue. The base is ridiculously heavy and the bust is ridiculously light.
