I made the following to demonstrate what I see every time I look at it...

I agree with Cartman. Same thing happened in the P2 thread (although slightly more relevant).

Everyone goes nuts , loves it , then one guy brings something up then it snowballs. I'd wager 80% of posts I read on the forum are some form of disagreement over a piece. I think this is def a piece that you either like or you don't. It's a tough gig, they get so much stick for the one knee up pose and as soon as it goes missing it's outrage!

I'm as guilty as the next man though I must admit. This thing at 22 inches with be pretty impressive IMO, with such a small base it could have even been around 24-25 which is quite large for a PF.

Listen, i'm not trying to defend the fact that i ordered this when other people said it was a lame pose, small, etc… But seriously i think people jump on the "its no good" bandwagon so frequently with these things. Go back to the beginning of this thread and see how many people saw the preview and wanted to PO immediately, then someone mentions the size, then someone picks on the fused legs, then all of a sudden its dog shiz… seriously, i know there are quite a few of you that think this looks good but because everyone around you is telling you its lame, you all of a sudden think you should as well. Makes no difference to me, but i just wish there were more people that ordered this so we could all enjoy it together when the masterpiece arrives :)

To be fair, I don't think anybody has said this is shiz, it is another nice piece spoiled by a silly design decision if anything. we all get excited about new things and the instant reaction and the inevitable forum post that goes with that excitement is usually positive (P2 maquette included) But then you sit back, remember how expensive these things are and look a bit closer which is when you tend to notice the more negative issues, I think THX took some great pictures of this at the con that highlighted the fused legs, something that Sideshows small pictures don't show at all so that also changed a few on the fence opinions. I like this... apart from the legs, makes him look constipated. But that is just my opinion, if people are effected by opinions they really should be avoiding public forums. Just buy what you like, don't worry about what others think. I'm personally hoping for another attempt at this character but that doesn't mean others shouldn't enjoy this one.

Your wish is my command...

Now that is funny :lol

I POed this day one. cant wait to add him to my humble aliens/preds collection. yes, the scale & pose could have been better, but 22" high is still big. I can see this turning to another GL thread, too much negativity till the in hand pics start rolling,,

I don't think it has been overly negative for this one. I like it apart from the fused legs, if people can get over that then this is a great buy with such a low es. It is very expensive though for what it is. I'm waiting and hoping for the engineer in full flight suit.

I've read the "it's very expensive" a few times but honestly I don't see what the issue is. If you pop the standard 2-3 inch base (usually a rock) on this (since he's pretty much on a flat stand) then he comes in at almost exactly the same height as some of the larger PF's that do cost $400. He would come in at around the same size as Batman which by most accounts is a very large statue.

He's pretty detailed, much more so than a regular Superhero with a pair of Y fronts on and the paint looks pretty impressive. I'm all for slating SS for their weird pricing structure but I think they got this one pretty much right. He's a fair chunk larger than the 1/5 Predators which also stand on massive bases. Compared to my Dutch PF - again on massive base, he'll be about 2 inches bigger.

So it can't be the size. If you guys mean the scale then yeah, he's out of real scale but that's not really an issue for me with this particular statue. It's a single in a line (most likely) and meant to be a standalone piece ( Ie its not small Batman looking weird next to large Superman)

good defense. I like your reasoning and almost makes me want to order.

He's not out of scale. It's a 1:5 statue.

What I meant was most people wanted a 1/4 scale but that would have meant more like $600 in this scale. For me at this size a small - 22inches? - and $400 I think it's a reasonable deal. I mean by most reasoning people don't like the pose, so if it were 1/4 scale in this pose I don't really see people rushing out to buy him just because he's larger.

If I design a small Giger style base/display for him he'll stand over 25 inches tall. That's bigger/just as big as anything I have apart from the Dark Rider.

I guess this statue is like the movie, you either love it or you hate it!

I don't hate it by any means, but I don't love it. As for it being a good price, there just isn't much to it. When you compare it to something like the Iron patriot with its detailed base and light up features this just seems expensive. You could flip that of course and compare it to the P2 and say this is a bit of a bargain. I was defending it anyway, I would probably have ordered if only for a slightly more relaxed pose.

Looks like it's coming September instead of July now

Why doesn't sideshow email you on the release changes? I have to check everything I ordered
