It's what the franchise needs, this is what Scott needs to do next, a school life anime about Xenos.

After seeing it I would have to say that its a 7/10 at best only because of Michael Fassbender and my continued interest in where the story is going, despite it probably going to be a disappointment.

The movie was incredibly predictable from the stupid actions of the characters, David/Walter switch, Air Lock Scene, etc.

My biggest complaint of all though was the entire handling of Shaw's Character and the lack of clarity regarding the last film. To have a several second scene with her corpse showing on a table was inexcusable, if Rapace didn't want to return they could have done a recast if necessary to save the story/script. The fact that they don't mention or show how David killed her, did he bring her out of cryosleep to send the transmission, how did she find out what he did to the engineers, etc?

David destroyed one city on the planet, is the entirety of the Engineer species small enough to reside in a single city, what about other planets? Ridley should have simply addressed all of the questions from the last film that many of us waited 5 yrs for.

With that said, I still have many unanswered questions that will unfortunately force me to sit through the future films if they come about. I absolutely hated David by the end, the film still has me fuming over what he did and that shows that there is a semblance of a good movie somewhere in Alien Covenant. The visual effects and look of the film were great.

You guys are all too hung up on being negative...
:dunno

As far as the engineers go, we clearly haven't seen the last of them, as the eggs on the Derelict Ship were clearly of David's mutations, and not the original black goo canisters used by the engineers to deliver their weapons of mass destruction, ergo, we'll see more of the engineers in the next film(s), if only to get an engineer impregnated and crash land on LV-426 with thousands of eggs.

But to get that do we need to sit thru another movie with zero charisma. :lol

I forget - in Alien did they give any guesses as to how long the derelict ship had been there on LV-426...I mean the space jockey, with its chest-burst wound, had been dead long enough to become fossilised into the chair, no?

but if the Xenomorph was created by David...*scratches head*....howz that work?

a-dev, that's one of the many plot holes.
After the 10th, they start to add up to the point where I can't simply ignore them and it ruins the movie experience.
Next thing would be to make the SpaceJockey in Alien turn out to be David himself! Dying on his way back to earth with all the eggs, becoming a giant focil, and being able to host xenos.

I'm just gonna ignore everything that happens after Alien and imagine the pilot has been there for probably thousands of years and the race itself is likely millions of years old, and completely unrelated to mankind.

I haven't seen many plot holes being brought up, I've seen people point out many non-plotholes but not not many actual ones, and none of them as bad as the dude with the map getting lost.

Not that the story is all that interesting anyway, with or without plotholes.

I think I have it all figured out...

>Walter is alive
>Gathered all the eggs and went to an uninhabited planet to destroy them
>Walter = SpaceJockey
>David is enslaved by the Yautja and forced to create Alt-Xenos for them to hunt
>Walter is freed in death
>David lives a life in captivity

This is perfect for the next Xeno vs Yautja movie.
