Yeah, back in "Triumph and Torment". He teamed up with Dr. Strange and invaded Mephisto's realm. Doom "betrayed" Stephen, since Mephisto promised him he'd free his mom if he did, but Cynthia was disgusted by what her son had become, so by denying to be rescued, her soul ascended to Heaven. Doom freed Strange and they escaped Mephisto's realm. It was never revealed if he truly betrayed Stephen or if that was part of his plan, and honestly, I like that. Betraying him would break his code of honour, but at the same time, he'd been trying to save his mom for 2 decades, battling Mephisto once per year, so he was pretty desperate.

Currently, Cynthia's back messing with him and in cahoots with Ultimate Reed:

So they're probably ****ing. And considering Ultimate Reed can do this:

They're probably having a Hentai x Watchmen style orgy. We still don't know if that the real Cynthia, or an AU, Clone or Impersonator though. If it's the real Cynthia, oh boy. Doom's mother is being ****ed by an AU Reed that's even smarter than 616 Reed. And he can made his ****, like, 10 meters long and 20 meters thick. Actually he can probably create 100 such dicks... Doom's gonna have an aneurysm after going REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for a full hour I think...

Did she came back to life or something?

The PF has a design more similar to the books. That was the Legendary Scale statue. As for the mask, well, the gist of it is this:

Doom's mom sold her soul to save her people from the evil Baron of Latveria, but her spell backfired, she killed all of the local village's kids, and the Latverians killed her. When Doom's father died (Baron ****ery), he turned to her magic books and vowed to save her. He got a scholarship to the US, and tried to make a machine to enter Hell and save her. Reed noticed some decimals were off, but Vic was all "REEEEEEEEEEEE", so the machine blew up in his face. Then he got expelled, got into some trouble, ended up in the Himalayas, and got that mask put on.

As for what he looks like underneath it, comics vary. More often than not it's implied he's all burned up, but sometimes it's made explicit that it's just a teeny tiny scar. Doom's ego is such though, that even that little bit of imperfection is too much. Other times it's just self-imposed punishment for his mistake. Because he blames Richards, but he knows he ****ed up.

Doom can go from one of comic-dom's most complex characters to one of the most basic, really, and that's on the writers. It's why Doombots are a thing. Every time Doom doesn't act like the writers wants him to, he retcons the previous appearance as a malfunctioning Doombot. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. Mainly because some demonize him, and others turn him into a saint.

As for me, I prefer him as an anti-villain. He wants to save the world, but he has negative qualities. He's petty and jealous. He's a bit sexist and racist/xenophobic/nationalistic to a degree. He's brilliant, but he stretches himself too thin, and so he's always second best. He's the second best sorcerer, engineer, scientist, etc. But at the same time, turning him into Stalin (shoot the first man who stops clapping) ain't the way to go. A depiction out of a Shakesperean play or a Greek Tragedy is my preffered version.

Plus, how can you not love a guy who daydreams about keeping Lady!Loki and Emma Frost as sex slaves?!

So with that, I can see how bad Fox ****ed him up... both times :lol

We don't know yet.

3.5 times, technically. FF 1 & 2, Fant4stic, and Corman's version, which was pure hammy Doom, so it gets a half-pass. Honestly, the guy could headline his own movie. Done right, it could be a drama that could even go to the Oscars... Seriously! Take away the sillier stuff, and you have a story of revenge, revolution, and a peasant making himself king. Writting a DOOM comic and directing a DOOM flick is in my bucket list, but the chances of these happening are minimal, at best... I've got more chances of becoming Doom (studying physics, and with such sitty equipment we have, and with my luck, something blowing in my face ain't that unlikely) :lol.

Does Fox still own FF4? If Disney got it, it might be the only MCU figure I'd strongly consider getting.

You could say doom is like Griffin complete with weird helmet and everything

Griffith... GRIFFITH! You always spell it wrong and it drives me nuts :lol

I don't do Anime ****e boi... Kidding aside, I've been meaning to give Berserk a shot. I started FMA a few days ago, so I may follow with that later.

No, not yet, but rumour has it that Marvel got them back. Feige said that after Phase 3, their plans are different, and today he said the cosmic side is going to be at the forefront. Add to that the 5th After Credits scene of GotG 2 [...]

Stan Lee is Uatu the Watcher, and he's talking to the rest of the Watchers.

[...] and it seems rather likely. TDoom has his own quasi-solo ATM (he's playing Iron Man), Ben was in the Guardians, and Johnny was in the Avengers. Invisible Woman got an action figure and the Human Torch is getting one, all of which are strange, considering there was an F4 ban a few years ago. We'll see.

If we're fancasting, like I said, I'd go with Toby Stephens. The man was a beast in Black Sails.

As for a fig, I'd get a 1/6th Doom fig no matter what. Sideshow teased one a few years back (not an actual figure, but he was part of that Punisher/Wolverine/Deadpool promo), so if they ever release it, even if it's crap, I'll probably get it. Unless it's 3A Doom crap...

Nice to see that it is Stan Lee. I know it's been speculated for years.

I considered the 3A Doom, but eh... I don't care for their style.

Yeah, twas a meme back in the day, but now it's finally canon. Folks say he'd have been a better TOAA, but only the King can be the TOAA.

Some folks turned into a classic Doom with mods, but I ain't got the time for that. I'd rather wait.

I'll have to get used to the manga format, but I may actually give it a shot. I got a Dark Souls-esque vibe from the clips I watched, so I may try the book or the anime.

Read the manga. The new Anime is neutered ****. It's a continuation of the Anime from the 90s. Both are still only portions of the manga.

Im glad i read it before watching the show. I dont read a lot in general, but Berserk was really really strong.the plot is great.
I think you would love it because of what you described of Doom. I could see you becoming a big fan of Berserk.

Theres a lot of f ed up stuff, the manga crosses a lot of lines that western comics would be too scared to touch. The characters are very complex

The manga has made me drop my jaw at how far they go sometimes
I loved how they dont hold back

If there's no CP or something related, I'm good. I can stomach drawn gore.
