Mikey, i keep meaning to ask you, the Anakin face in your banner, where is that headsculpt from, and how can i get one ?

First, it wasn't I who used Microman parts to customize that first VCD Yoda. Though I did take the idea and run with it, using parts from a Marvel Legends Doc Strange. Cut and paste. I had done it before with a Hasbro Yoda, using G.I. Joe parts. It's pretty easy with a trusty dremel at your side.

Second, Lerath, which Anakin do you mean? The ROTJ Vader/Anakin (also in my avatar) is a repainted Medicom. The ROTS Anakin is just a repaint of the SSC figure. The ROTS Anakin as a Sith is actually a resculpt by our very own Darren Carnall, alsao painted by me. Finally, the eye in the top left corner is from my repaint of the Hasbro Masterpiece Anakin.

Man, I hadn't realized how much Anakin I had in there!
If you click the banner, you can see more pics of my custom work in my Photobucket.

I've seen it a few other places in the last couple of days, pleople are telling me it's a darren "resculpt" I take this to mean he chopped and moddified the existing head? Fascinating. I wonder if he's still selling those?

Hey Mikey, what do you think about using the super poseable Gollum figure and either a medi yoda, or a Hasbro Episode 2 yoda to make a nicely articulated yoda?

I found this in a forum search, is this that first one you did Mikey?

That's not mine, but it is kind of the same thing I did with a commissioned Ep II Yoda. I also used G.I. Joe parts on that one. I posted pics of my VCD Yoda in my gallery. I don't want to derail this thread.

For the EpII Yoda, I also gave him bendable knees.

the new Microman/Microforce figures are pretty fragile and would not last long if they were used. Mikey's use of Marvel Legends seems best.

I just got my Gollum figuire out of storage, the joints are a lot weaker than I remembered. While I think he'd be about the right size, I don't think the body would support the extra weight very well.

I'll make him Articulated myself if i must, but Sideshow, Please make an articulated yoda, Here's a pic someone made on the rebelscum forums, showing a possible idea, I'd prefer a prometheus styled neck, but this would be proper proportions for a yoda body, but perhaps a bit thinner?

For me, a fixed pose yoda, like Crumb is the worst case scenario, i'm sure several of you agree. But it that's what we ger, Like I said, I'll articulate him myself.

I got that Gollum figure a couple years back with the intent to make an articulated Yoda with him. He's still in the box. Too bad if he's all flimsy. Maybe the superglue trick will stiffen the joints. I think the size is about right, just got to paint him green, pop on the head, hands and feet and...watch him fall over. :) Good thing Yoda sits a lot.

That's pretty awesome. New upper arms would need to be made to get it in perfect scale though. The joint connections might have to be fixed though since they may not just plug into any socket because of peg and socket size discrepancies. But this might be a perfect solution if Sideshow can accomplish a conversion like this.

Actually Justin, they look like newer HT wrists to me, Will Turner has similar. Smaller like Sideshow's but not exact same as Sideshow and even HT's got more realistic human hands now, so perhaps some crossover will take place there too. Lots of possibilities, but the Prometheus wrist isn't intended for Buck hands, they'll have to have cups in the wrists for the ball joint like HT, otherwise it'll look absolutely rediculous.

The Prometheus looks great and all. But one thing that bugs me is they retained the wrist peg from the Buck. And it's the phallic shaped one that is hard to fit hands onto. If the neck joint isn't backwards compatible, I don't see why the wrists need to. Let Trevor sculpt new hands please.

The neck joint will be backward compatible. Just like the HT true Type bodies, it will have interchangeable neck joints to accommodate all Sideshow heads.

Hey guys,

Yes there probably will be a neck adapter. I use those already with Hot Toys, ACE, and BBi. But my argument was if you are going to make new heads, why not new hands?

True, the armored body has wrist pegs similar to Hot Toys. But the Prometheus has the same phallic pin joint that makes it almost impossible to swap hands without heating them up first. I am glad to see it will probably be concealed with a ball socket wrist-hand interface.

Did you not read Maulfans post? The wrists have ball joints now, the hands will be different so they can sit flush on the ball joint. Just like HT.

Do you just sit around all day thing about newd figure bodies?
