The one thing that makes Steam incredible, are the discounts. I doubt that those types of sales will even be available for the X-Box One.

Exactly. If Steam was just another DRM I would hate it, but the fact that they have stupid low prices on all their sales makes me love it. PC gaming needed to go to that. I was tired of installing 5 disc games back in the day :lol

In terms of DRM, I think a lot of former X-Box users will have to start weighing their options. With all of the restrictions placed on the X-Box One, Steam seems like the more viable choice - especially since it offers games that are discounted at ridiculous low prices.

I remember when Half-Life 2 came with a bundled with a bunch of disks in 2004. The installation took forever :lol. But, on that note, I really hate downloading enormous games that eat away my hard-drive space. Max Payne 3 was over 30 GB!!! :horror

Im just going back to playing Atari..River raider FTW

I actually still play that parachute game from time to time. It gets intense after a few beers.

The space doesn't bother me too much. I have a TB hard drive + another 150gb HD as well installed. but agreed the installation back then was so long :lol

Stream won't be a viable option until they can prove access to a majority of major titles. If they can get access to most if not all major titles all gaming systems will have to adjust to fight it in the future.

:goodpost:xbox and Nintendo both have great games that people should give a try. I enjoy gaming so I play on all 3 systems as well as PC

That's the ticket. Limiting yourself to one system just takes so many great games away.

That's too bad. You're missing some good stuff.

I've only felt that way now and thats only because of a few indie games. Mark of the Ninja, Super Meat boy, Pez and Super Time force.

Ive never had any interest in Xbox exclusives. (played and beat the first Halo at my friends, that was pretty sick)

Admittedly alot of the exclusives that initially made me a Playstation fanboy have become multi-plat. Tomb Rader, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy etc. But Sonys in-house game comanys are King!

From IGN:

Early data for console pre-orders from major online retailers in the United States show consumers pre-ordered approximately three PS4 units for every two Xbox One consoles during the period between Monday June 10 to Wednesday June 12. While this is not an indication of future purchase intent, it does seem to suggest that Sony resonated louder with consumers during E3 2013 than Microsoft.

Dangit, is no one awake at 5:30 AM on a weekday? :gah:

Guess I'll go back to sleep for a few hours before I have to leave for work.

I guess that shows that Internet polls don't hold much value. Those numbers are actually closer than I expected. 3/2 is not exactly a huge gap.

Well, you still have to consider that the majority of console sales aren't from early adopters who pre-order their consoles for a launch release. Many of those who voted in this poll (and others), may plan to pick up a PS4 at a later date. Perhaps they're waiting for a price drop, or perhaps it's the case that they still see some good use in their current-gen hardware.

In any case, it's never a good idea to look at poll results as an accurate indicator of potential sales. It's more along the lines of general interest. It's very likely that some who voted for the PS4, may buy an X-Box One instead (for whatever reason). Or, they may decide to not to pick up a console at all.

Edit: I should also note, that the statistical data for the pre-orders that IGN mentioned are for the U.S alone. There are regions around the world where the X-Box One will not launch, that also have the PS4 up for pre-order.
