Cap is officially listed at 6'2". Punisher is 6' even. He's supposed to be smaller than Cap. Also, the base on Cap seems a bit higher than Punisher's. Don't know for sure because I can't tell from the pic. This Punisher Com is the same scale as the AH Mystique Com. Roughly 1/5.5 scale. That's good enough for me. I put him next to the Venom, Surfer, & Iron Man Com and he measures up fine with them. He is not 1/4 scale. I know that. However, in my book, he's still epic.

Dude... 1/5.5 is smaller than 1/5 and there is far more than a 2" difference there

:goodpost:

I bought the statue not the scale. it's amazing how there were a bunch interested in the Classic Ultron saying they've been waiting for it as they prefer the classic, then it's 1/5 and suddenly it's lame :cuckoo:

There is nothing weird about it. We want a cohesive collection that displays well together and not some sloppy ragtag display.

I get that

But let's say there was finally a [INSERT PERSONS FAVOURITE HERO IN A POSE/COSTUME THEY'VE ALWAYS WANTED] statue shown, and it looked outstanding, the best looking of it's character statue ever, people have been salivating for it for ages, it gets revealed a week or two later and it's 1/5.5 instead of 1/4.

"screw that then" or "who cares it's ****ing awesome looking."

I can see and respect that. I am hoping we get a new Spidey PF but if it turns out to be a 1/5 th piece I am going to jump on it mainly because I want a Spidey in my collection and I won't pay exorbant prices for the 1/4th com and PF. But I like many here want to keep the majority of my collection 1/4th if possible.

I prefer 1/4 also but don't get all the rage. The thing that matters most is sculpt and paint quality. For example the barbarian, snake eye & timber, tychus, vamp and punisher comiquette are all not 1/4 however they are some of my most treasured pieces because how perfectly painted and detailed they are.

just have a shelf dedicated to 1/5 - 1/6 statues...what's the big deal

:dunno

Hmm good idea, I never thought about splitting them up for 1/5 and 1/4 on a different shelf, then the scales won't mix and match to make the scales look off. Btw yes the vampi, snake eyes, thanos, mystique, arch angel, hydra comiquettes I own I still like them a lot. So they are not moving anywhere. :hi5:

The .5 was symbolic. I know that it's technically smaller. What I meant to say was that it's between the 2 scales. As for the Cap PF, I don't have him so I can't compare those 2 pieces. Cap's base can be higher than Punisher's and that can skew the scale difference. Or, he can be slightly larger than 1/4 scale (like the Spidey Com) and can throw off the scale. Either way he is bigger than a normal 1/5 piece. Next to the 1/4 pieces I own (Skaar, Joker, Iron Man, Venom, Silver Surfer, Wolvie, & Mystique) he mixes in just fine. He looks great in my collection. That's good enough for me.

That would be 1:4.5.

Yes, you are correct. That is the scale of the Punisher Com. It's close enough to 1/4 scale for me. Just do the math. He's 6ft tall. That's 72 inches in height. If he were a true 1/5 scale statue he'd measure only 14.4 inches in height. He's slightly over 16 inches tall. 18 inches would 1/4 scale. A difference of roughly 1.75 inches will not get me to say the Com doesn't mix well with my 1/4 pieces. Would I have liked the piece to be 1.75 inches taller? Sure. However, it doesn't make or break such an amazing statue for me.

That all being said, I am firmly in the camp of a 1/4 scale standard for sideshows statues. I like a uniform look to my displays.

Don't get me wrong... he is a nice statue but he is not 1/4 and I am prefering this PF.

Also the comiquette obviously doesn't squat as his legs are puny.

got to see the whole sculpt last night from a freind who works at SS. I cant post pics for obvious reasons, but it's one of those pieces that has to grow on you. I think of myself as one of the BIGGEST Punisher fans ever, and I'm looking at it with a wondering why there wasn't more attention to detail overall. The base is yes...plain. and the switchout head doesnt go with the clean look. SS is trying to go for some kinda retro maybe 40's gangster look with this one. It doesn't have many accessories and according to my friend, is pretty much set in tone with what you see here. There is another switchout piece to it, but I can't say. Of course I'm picking this one up...hell...it's the Punisher!

Comi is good but i didnt liked face sculpt on comi n its not 1/4 so i m looking forward to PF ..... i liked classic look in it .....

Incorrect. I measured him myself and he is slightly over 16 inches tall. I measured from the base to the top of his head. Also, the piece is just short of 20 inches in height. The top of his gun clocks in at about 19.5 inches.

I have zero problem with you not liking the Com. I hope the new PF gives you what you want in the character. However, I have the Com in hand and know that he is comparable to my other PFs and my measurements are accurate. Enjoy the new PF. It is uninspiring to me and I will pass on it.
