Re: QMx: 1/6 Firefly - Captain Malcolm Reynolds (1st page updated with hi-res photos)

How long between figure releases, and who is after Jayne?

Hi CSI - Anything I say now would be purely speculative and would go against our policy of not announcing things before they're at the factory. Suffice to say we'll do them as fast as making a quality product will allow.

Re: QMx: 1/6 Firefly - Captain Malcolm Reynolds (1st page updated with hi-res photos)

I would love to see some truly high end Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine stuff at some point.

Re: QMx: 1/6 Firefly - Captain Malcolm Reynolds (1st page updated with hi-res photos)

Andy! You guys are doing a fantastic job with the fan relations! I think we all really appreciate the extra effort you and QMx put into that.

Will Mal (non-exclusive) or the rest of the crew be sold through Sideshow at all? Just trying to plan ahead on how and when to use my SS rewards. Stay shiny.

Thanks, Earthdog! We try our best :wink1: As far as Sideshow carrying our product, that's really up to them. They are an authorized QMx reseller, so there's no problem there.

Thanks, Lakhota! But I guess we don't really understand why everyone wouldn't treat their customers this way. I mean, isn't it the customer who ultimately pays you and keeps you in business?

BTW, apologies for coming to this string late. We've been following the comments since the beginning, but weren't sure if it was okay for us to post (you know, some forums don't like to hear from companies). But when we saw your questions weren't getting answered, we decided to jump in. You've made us feel very welcome!

Had to try :wink1:

I'll definitely be buying them all.

Joined Sideshow Collectors back in 2006 for the sole purpose of badgering Sideshow into producing a line of Firefly figures. It only took 8 years for someone to bring my dreams to reality. Thank you QMx. Would love to see you expand to the Serenity costums as well.

Very excited about this figure - and any possible future figures. Andy, it is flipping awesome of you to take the time to post and offer comments and answer questions. So stoked for Mal and a freaking Firefly figure! Nice to see something this well done and new and fresh.

I think you'll find that the Firefly folks are heads and tails nicer than all the other folks here... there are some good ones, to be sure, but the Firefly folks... well... they're exceptional!

Well then, you'll be happy to know that, as mentioned elsewhere on this thread, we have some pretty experienced and talented folks on the articulated team including some super-talented Sideshow alums. The team is working very closely with the factory to make sure they match the prototype.

:yess: Good to hear! :)

As for Star Trek, I can confirm that everything except TOS is within our current license scope. But we have to make sure the BDHs are off to a running start before we change focus to another license. Give us time, we'll get there.

Thanks for the answer! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the Firefly crew and hopefully Star Trek in the future. If not TOS, then TNG and TWOK definitely and then everything else is a bonus on top of that.

Was the figure at the Dallas con a production piece?

Re: QMx: 1/6 Firefly - Captain Malcolm Reynolds (1st page updated with hi-res photos)

Thanks for joining us Andy, always great to hear from an insider on what's going on.

Hi Lakhota - our current eCommerce system doesn't let us take an order without taking the entire sum upfront. And we kind of hate that, so we tend to wait until the product is literally on the boat and heading to the warehouse before we open preorders. That way you shouldn't wait more than 30 days to get your product from the time you pay for it.

We're in the process of fixing this issue, along with a host of others, with the website ordering system. But in the meantime, we think it's better to wait than to sit on a lot of other people's money.

You probably noticed we didn't even announce the figure until he was at the factory. We don't like to wait a long time for the things we lust after, so we try not to do that to our own customers.

If you want to order direct from us, please sign up for the waiting list on the product page. We use that to set the website allocation, so no one who signs up should miss getting their figure.

That's good to hear, I was curious how the pre-order was going to work... I'll just make sure I have the money earmarked for this :rock

Oh man, classic Trek at this level would be incredible... I imagine many of us would drool at the thought of Trevor Grove tackling the TOS crew.

I agree with this statement! I was surprised at how nice the Firefy folks have been to me when I was in need of starting figure bashes.

Thread rated + for positive energy. Such a welcome relief from…other threads. :monkey3

Props to the company for answering qs and not hiding under a fake name or anything shady that we've seen in the past. Keep up the good work and you have a new customer.

We're all Browncoats here at QMx. Serenity was one of our first licenses and is still our most beloved. So, yeah, we wanted these, too. We just couldn't do it until we could do it right. And that took some time :)

I'll be honest, costumes are a little outside our area of expertise. But maybe we can convince ANOVOS to do something. Their stuff is great.

Are we getting a basic base? Or something a little more?

He was the pre-production prototype. So not quite a production piece, but pretty close.
