Do you have any UK retailers lined up?

It would be a shame to miss out on the exclusive, but it's always a case of weighing up the extra shipping cost plus the UK's 20% customs tax.

It's a little early to say who will be carrying Mal where, but our rights are worldwide, so we'll definitely be looking to get him in a store near you. And if you have a favorite store, get 'em to e-mail us at [email protected] and we'll get them a dealer packet right away.

It's a pretty standard base, with a wire waist loop to hold Mal upright.

Hi Lakhota - our current eCommerce system doesn't let us take an order without taking the entire sum upfront. And we kind of hate that, so we tend to wait until the product is literally on the boat and heading to the warehouse before we open preorders. That way you shouldn't wait more than 30 days to get your product from the time you pay for it.

We're in the process of fixing this issue, along with a host of others, with the website ordering system. But in the meantime, we think it's better to wait than to sit on a lot of other people's money.

You probably noticed we didn't even announce the figure until he was at the factory. We don't like to wait a long time for the things we lust after, so we try not to do that to our own customers.

If you want to order direct from us, please sign up for the waiting list on the product page. We use that to set the website allocation, so no one who signs up should miss getting their figure.

Thanks for the clarification Andy. I've never bought a figure internationally before (I'm from Asia) and looks like I'm gonna have to save up right now so I won't miss the pre-order. Oh, is this limited to one unit per customer?

We're all Browncoats here at QMx. Serenity was one of our first licenses and is still our most beloved. So, yeah, we wanted these, too. We just couldn't do it until we could do it right. And that took some time

I'll be honest, costumes are a little outside our area of expertise. But maybe we can convince ANOVOS to do something. Their stuff is great.

Sorry I wasn't clear. What I was inquiring about was the possibility of doing the figures dressed as they appeared in the movie in addition to the way they appeared in the TV show.

Sorry I wasn't clear. What I was inquiring about was the possibility of doing the figures dressed as they appeared in the movie in addition to the way they appeared in the TV show.

Ah. Okay, yeah, I misunderstood. Hm. Well, that's more of a rights issue than a technical issue. Fox controls rights for both when it comes to content, but it's a bit murky on the merchandising front. But personally I'd love to have Jayne come with the yellow ringer Troublemaker shirt, not the olive drab version from the show. So we'll see what we can make happen.

The confirmation email I received when I placed the order yesterday with BBTS says $159.99.

Exactly! I jumped on BBTS' pre-order immediately. Currently it still says $159.99 in my pre-orders page. Though, I'm sure that will be adjusted once the figure is ready to ship. $180-ish is still a decent price.

Hey there Darth - no one has rights for the movie. It's basically unlicensable at the moment (for complicated legal reasons). But we're working to see if we can get that changed.

I've always wondered about how the licensing works between the movie and the show---there's many times where promotional materials from the movie use the TV version of the ship

The people responsible for canceling Firefly are all long gone from the studio. The folks we work with now have a deep appreciation for the property and love the fans. They've been supportive and many of them are Browncoats themselves.
