I want to order these but the colour of Spock's shirt is so completely off that it absolutely ruins the figure for me.

At least with Kirk I understand whence the "avocado" colour comes, because that is what the shirt looks like in person, but having seen Spock's shirt in person right next to Kirk's (that's my photo on the left) I can assert this choice of blue is fundamentally wrong:

Does any one see nanjin's colour choice as reasonably the same as any of the three examples?

Color looks fine to me. no mass produced 1/6 figure from any company will ever be 100% accurate to the actual person and outfit, as long as it's close i'm happy.

It's not his product anymore. It is QMx product and should be open for criticism just like Hot Toys, Sideshow, and other manufacturers.

Prop accuracy would be Spock's ears being detachable prosthetics that attach to the head rather than looking like real ears? Is that what people want?

His commitment to "prop accuracy" actual disrespects in my view the artistic intent of the original designers who designed for how an outfit appeared on film.

However, if you want this to be an argument from authority, the fact Anovos has clearly chosen a markedly different blue for their exact replicas of the original costumes speaks volumes.

Guys, you can't do that to me. I am waking up on a beautiful Saturday morning and you are all ordering already? Can I please ask for a little bit of guidance here?

How can they have it up before QMX themselves? How quickly will I have to make my mind up before these are sold out? What happened to "but I want the extras"? Nobody wants them anymore? What happened to oversea local retailers? I had thought / hoped that everyone would get the preorder at the same date. So I have to decide now whether to order at the US right now or wait for a later that may or may not happen?

Even if I order at BBTS for this price, shipping and custom fees will add a lot. But I don't want to wait and then miss out if the oversea retailers never happen. Do we know for sure that they will happen? Will we ever hear "sorry guys, didn't work our" or just wait forever? With or without extras does not make much of a difference for me, but shipping and especially custom fees surely will.

Can one cancel a BBTS pre-order when something better (local) comes along? Will there be cancellation fees?

Please help, I'm feeling a little lost here.

I actually don't know whether he favors prop or screen accuracy, but I do recall him posting about the color changes Kirk's shirt undergoes with lighting variations.

Basically whoever does this has to make a choice, and I'm just saying it hasn't been a mindless exercise.

Nanjin has said that it it was too late to get approval for this first line. Maybe at a later date? A variant figure? An extra sold head? No idea. Definitely not happening right now though.

As I've stated before, I fully respect nanjin's passion and would never suggest this is a "mindless" choice. I just feel he is too influenced by the dominant attitude at Star trek uniform forums which fixate on prop colours rather than using artistic judgment about what appeared on screen. It is the difference between qualitative versus quantitative judgement.

I would be happy with a wide range of Spock blues, I think the HD appearance is the best goal, but slight differences are fine, especially because I know from trying how hard it is to dye cloth to a specific colour. I'm saying this blue on the QMx is so far off that no one else representing Spock has tried to replicate this supposedly prop-accurate colour. Not Anovos, not Mezco with their 1:12 figure, not the various Diamond Select/Art Asylum figures, not Playmates, not Funko, ...people consistently choose a much paler blue.

That price will change. BBTS doesn't have any price information and are just guessing.

Correct, I was on the phone to QMx wholesale last night and even they do not have a solid price yet.

Relax. Sit back for a few days and wait. UK and EU retailers are being negotiated now. Us UK/EU lot will shout once QMx have a retailer lined up for exclusives etc. It will happen. Just wait. I'm not ordering from the US.

QMx are definitely going to be working with international sellers.

Now as a heads up, do not panic. I am not sure about Germany but I have been asked to distribute in the UK including Exclusive versions. To ship within the EU there is no custom charges so as a last resort and if nothing is sorted for Germany just give me an email and I will help you the best I can.

Just pre-ordered both on BBTS. I hope the price holds at $159.99. That would be a great price on these figures.

It shows a list price of $179.99 which was the projected price for the figures so maybe BBTS got a big enough allotment to sell the figures at a discount.

Does anyone know if BBTS has ever increased the price on a pre-ordered item?

I have only had one instance where the price went up after I pre-ordered and I still got the price at which I ordered.

Between Star Wars and LOTR figures I was not expecting to get into another 1/6 line, but these are so nice I think I will add them to the collection.
