I’m just saying I hope Hot toys drops the license so they can get it themselves. I think it would be great to see another company attempt the Alien and Predator franchise in 1/6 scale. I feel like Hot Toys are still playing games when it comes to making these new figures sometimes for example the Romulus Alien looks to still have deteriorating rubber for the jaws which sucks in my opinion
I wasn’t referring to you…

Let’s at least do it with some Christmas spirit

Someone said that inart aren't interested in properties before 1994 but they are exploring Superman from 1978.

Hot Toys has a stranglehold on a lot of the key licences from the 80s and as another poster pointed out others can't be licenced (e.g. bladerunner). Hot toys renewed T2 because inart were sniffing around the licence and surprise surprise new predator and alien franchise figures have been shown as well after years of neglect. The Terminator (1984) might still be up for grabs as Hot Toys hasn't shown any new figures from that movie yet and I thought I heard a rumour while ago that inart might look into it.

Lord of the rings is a big market globally and the kids who grew up with it are now hitting that key demographic of having disposable income. The older fans who collect high end replicas and statues will have no qualms dropping inart legolas money on an inart figure Line as statues by the likes of Weta can't compete when it comes to nailing actor's likenesses. Seems like a pretty good cash cow to me and one that Asmus is keen to get back in on.

Harry Potter also has a pretty fanatic fan base and now that inart harry figures are beginning to show up those fans will probably only now be finding out that the line exists. A lot of female fans too who will have no problem collecting expensive dollies. They even kept the Star Ace line going for an age and that line went deep with all awful likenesses towards the end. Also another fan base where potential collectors are hitting the age of disposable income.

We tend to look at this as 1/6 figure collectors but these licences will attract fans to buy these figures who don't otherwise collect 1/6 scale, just merch from their particular favourite series.

I'd guess that burton batman is more niche than people imagine (even amongst 1/6 figure collectors), certainly more so than LotR and Harry Potter. Joost and his team have picked up that licence and the support on their first catwoman figure is enough for his smaller operation. If it would have sold in big numbers Hot Toys would have made it happen years ago. If they bring out a catwoman now it will only be because Howard's ego requires him to crush his competition (just like tdk joker artisan figure).

Just because InArt is interested,
doesn’t mean the world is, or more specifically,
the market they’re allowed to swim in.

InArt as a company consists of nerds obsessed with western culture, of course they’re interested now.

But back then? When films came out, that part of the world had no clue about any of this, they were sheltered from it. American cinema and the aesthetic we’ve created over the years had no place in their culture, and still largely doesn’t. As was previously stated, Japan’s citizens are a bit more liberal in regards to the outside world having influence on them and their day to day entertainment intake. It’s a fact that Asia at large, only recently began to have access to / take interest in this entertainment of ours due to the internet.

We don’t even have hard evidence as to what the inner workings are at INART. I also see them doing things they’re passionate about, like Viper is about Harry Potter IP. Passion projects. Idk why we jump the gun so much and talk out of our ***** when we clearly have no clue. It’s fun to speculate all day long I guess, but to what end?

Imo, it’s clear their lack of a streamlined production line/output is what’s holding them back from exploring the IPs they’ve set out to do and showcased at prior booths. They’ve been very selective so far and I appreciate them looking to do characters that make sense to do. Tons of things to come out of 1995+ franchises that they can do.

Every time I come to this thread, I'm hopeful that I'll see something concrete about the T1 T800 which I know they got the license for. Instead, I see talk about Ledger Joker 456.0. My goodness, the 10,000 licensed and custom versions aren't enough? Gotta have a new one because the last one had a strand of hair out of place or the black eye makeup extended .001mm past where it should have ended. Tired of all the repeats. Give us something new and by new I mean old.

All the regulars in here care about is Ledger Joker. It’s quite fitting.

But yeah, I’m hoping for something fresh like Daenerys and a clean T1 Police Shootout look, in addition to other characters they’ve showcased and have expressed desire in doing. It seems like they’re really invested in Harry Potter/Wizarding World, but I’m good with Harry only.

I’m sick of the over saturation of Superheroes too,
I can count on one hand the comic book films
I actually can sit through and enjoy. Let alone call good filmmaking.

However, if there’s any truth to InArt’s financial situation, they absolutely need them at the forefront. You can’t keep an Asian company in its two year infancy afloat leading with a T-800 from 1984, as cool as it may look for the niche group of collectors interested to own. They need popular characters that are still extremely relevant in pop culture today.
Arnold isn’t relevant anymore.

Yes, and what’s the problem? It’s not like they’re like Hot Toys where they over saturate the IP and try to “make everyone and their mother” willingly. It’s obvious INART seems to be more interested in only making the main characters or higher relevant characters and designs from relevant source material. I doubt we’d see a Commissioner Gordon for example with the TDK Trilogy. OR, make groupings that make sense like the Fellowship or classic trios (Golden Trio), etc. Most of their characters can standalone just fine on their own, but don’t expect them to go “deeper within a line”. So far, every choice they’ve made that has actually gone up for official announcement makes “catalog” sense.

Arnold Terminator is relevant. Even their parent company makes Terminator stuff. Idk why you’re making it seem like they don’t care for that…? If you must be informed, a primary reason why we haven’t seen movement with a 1/6 Terminator of their own is because it’s been an extensive and long process with the licensor, StudioCanal.

Or another ******* Bale Batman.
That one, imo, is necessary. That’s an iconic and important character portrayal that deserves to have the INART treatment. It’s the first live-action Batman they were introduced to and grew nostalgic about. The local market loves TDK Trilogy in general.

Between the two suits, the TDK suit is iconic and the one the majority love. It’ll be made, we’ve also seen the leaked sculpt and they’ve expressed desire in doing it various times. I know I’ll be a happy camper.

Hey I adore T2,
doesn’t make it any less of a reality.

People today aren’t interested in revisiting old stuff, they’re looking for smaller, off beat independent films that feature all of these younger “stars” that aren’t really stars.

All of these nostalgia sequels are for you older guys,
not the college kids. These companies actually have an extremely difficult time reeling in anyone below 30, which is why they don’t want to scare any potential away with figures from old films, those figures will just be seen as old, despite the updated tech they feature.

The last thing InArt needs to do is get into a dick measuring contest with Hot Toys and try to one up the Artesian Joker. Let it go. I promise, if the sock stitches are .25mm smaller and more accurate, it's not going to make it any better at this point.

Impress us with something new that we haven't gotten a nauseating amount of times before. Lock down the QC. Tighten the release schedules. If you MUST continue to circlejerk the Nolan Batman films, at least give us Ra's Al Ghul.

Or, even better maybe go for other Nolan films. Interstellar. Inception.

Finally nail down Fury Road and Furiosa.

Take on some anemic game licenses in 1/6. God of War, Halo, Assassin's Creed, Doom...

Or. Change the saturation of the Joker's jacket for the 800th time. I'm sure that's the thing that'll cement their legacy in the market.
