All I want is amazing Last of Us and Metal Gear Solid figures.

I mean METAL GEAR SOLID hasn't had amazing sixth scale figures yet? How is that possible?
MGS was in some sort of limbo with licensing because of Konami but they're slowly loosening the reins a bit again, Sony/PS charges a good ammount for their licenses and Last of Us is Playstation's most valuable IP, they have the show, a solo multiplayer game and the remake coming later this year or the next, so unless you have prior licensed expirience and a big wallet they're not giving it to you.

So many untouched licenses

Beetlejuice
Batman returns
Wonka
Warriors
Hook
Goonies
Boardwalk empire
Munsters
Jaws
Scarface
Video games
Jurassic Park
ET
Labyrinth
Gremlins
Godfather ( Sonny + Micheal)
Music icons like Smooth criminal

To name a few. 🙄

But yunno we'll just keep asking for a rehash of another companies work because why not. 😂

I've actually wanted a new Tobey Spiderman and a Garfield Spiderman but the morons participating in those polls have almost put me off the idea. Fairly safe to assume Hot Toys will have them covered, no doubt imminently.

I was just going to say. We have an opportunity to finally get new stuff and people want another terminator, Batman, and stuff hot toys did already? Is it the rooted hair? Seriously?

so much stuff we could be getting.

Video games in general haven’t had good 1/6th scale figures.
Hot toys abandoned resident evil. Video game figures of that scale would sell.

At times, I believe the majority of those asking/posting about this and that company get this and that license don't fully comprehend the complexities and realities of how and why such companies cannot just do it.

Licenses cost money and the those who hold/own the licenses/rights for whatever properties just don't give out the license for whatever amount. They have conditions and restrictions.

Moreover, designs are not grabbed/pulled from thin air. Designs, prototyping, tooling, etc. all cost money along with manufacturing it, etc.

In the end, an accountant is going tabulate everything and it'll be up to the owners of whatever company is it worth even pursuing (i.e., are they going to make a profit to stay in business/to sustain the business).

The objective for any business is to make money and stay in business. I suspect most still don't comprehend or grasp it.

Yeah I'm not fooling myself, Mass Effect won't even make it to the top 5, Lara will probably be lower than that as well.

Neca did a lot of Kratos figures back in the day, I think all of them got bootlegged as well, but there never was a true 1/6 made, I think you can never make a perfect 1/6 Kratos because so much of his body is exposed and has unique scars, you have to do it sculpted and unfortunately that always brings exposed joints and a portion of collectors don't like that, a seamless body's only purpose would be to not have those joints but then you'd lose the ability to have Kratos in all his insane murderous poses wielding the blades of chaos.
Good points all around. I think ME has more chances, same with TB; I expect them in the Top 10. As to what ends up being made, I don't know. As for a Kratos, I'm hoping that with them going for "higher end" materials, they might have a solution for a seamless body that doesn't crack. He'd certainly be an impressive figure, especially the earlier Trilogy designs with all the armoured bits and whatnot.

I guess I just want them to put out some exciting stuff, because if they just turn into the Batman/80s company, whereas HT remains the Marvel/SW company, then I'll be massively disappointed.

PS: I won't complain too much if they go after the Arkham license. A Batman that doesn't crack, a Catwoman, Scarecrow and another Joker; I wouldn't be opposed to that...

MGS is something I'm not going to hype myself for, because the chances are very small. I'd love it, but I'm not going to delude myself that it's likely.

There's been some, but back then games were viewed as something only children or manbabies were interested in,vI still remember mentioning RDR and MGS to my old pals and being called a nerd lol, it's only in the past years that we've seen video games become more main stream and widely accepted as an actual story telling medium full of amazing stories and characters that many relate to.

Very accurate to what actually goes on in the industry, everyone should think about these points more often when dealing with giants like Hot Toys and now Queen Studios.

Man, Warriors would be amazing. One of my favourite movies and video games.

Even more-so than movie characters, I’d like some real icons of music.
Still anxiously awaiting Bitzway’s Kurt Cobain reveal but a 1989 Metallica lineup with rooted hair, instruments and a dio of the lady justice would be Godly.

Batman Returns is almost a certainty given its popularity in the '90s poll.

The other licenses you listed, while also beloved, will never sell as well as DC, Marvel, or Star Wars. If you're in it purely for the money, there's no reason not to focus on those big three and that's exactly what Hot Toys is doing. I'm beginning to think the only thing that may keep QS from doing the same is difficulty in acquiring the Disney licenses.

So yeah, we'll get some slightly fresh figures like Catwoman, a new T-800, perhaps Maximus from Gladiator and some Matrix stuff due to their success in the polls, but those last two are as zesty as it's going to get, at least for a while.

I guess Indy did well too, but again, Disney.

The only (relatively contemporary) musicians I'd buy figures of would be Bowie, MJ and Daft Punk.

Beyond that, I'm rooting for Mass Effect & GoW Videogame wise (I don't want to get my hopes up for MGS). Movies, shows and the such, there's too many to count. I'd buy a new T-800, but I mostly want them to do a great Indy and Deckard (K too). I think they'll get around to some proper Matrix figures, otherwise it'll be a massive waste to get just a Hobo Neo. Maxiums, Achilles and the such would be dreams come true, but I'm not holding my breath for historical movie figures. I doubt an Aubrey from Master & Commander would sell, but I'd love one. I doubt they'll ever look to TOS, but I'd really like some JJ Trek figures at the very least. Tron Legacy figures are the one desire I have and will probably never see realised...

Ah well, this is the most variety we've had in years, so I welcome the excitement, even if things don't end up being as interesting as they are in our heads.

I got hyped when you said the words 'a new T-800.'

It's been so long, we need a badass T2 Arnold.
I'd love a new T2 Arnold in shades that improves the two things over HT: likeness (including the Arnold neck) and body proportions.

While it probably will mean nothing, I'm glad to see that Blade made the top 10 of the 90s list (after removing irrelevant items).
He's one of the few new characters I still want to add to my display, and I'm surprised no company had made him yet, especially given the popularity of the HT Blade II.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but how great would this be in 1:6?
