Queen Studios / InArt to do sixth scale figures

I sent Queen Studios a Facebook message asking if they were going to put up a second round of polls and they said they'd pick the entry that has the most votes after filtering out the irrelevant ones. I don't know if they mean to say they'll pick only the very top, although even if they do, I assume they'll explore the runner-ups in time.

At the moment, the top five [relevant] entries for '80s are:
Batman '89
The Terminator (this option was added by Queen themselves, so they must be optimistic about being able to pursue figures as well as statues)
Indiana Jones
Star Wars
Predator / Dutch

Demand is definitely there for Burton Bats and Terminator. Everything after those will depend on how easy Disney is to deal with. Just below Predator sits Alien, another Disney-owned property, followed by Ghostbusters.

For '90s:
Batman '92
Catwoman '92
Terminator 2
The Matrix
TMNT '90

Nothing Disney here.

If QS are as committed to these polls as they want us to believe, it looks like they'll start by rounding out some long-unfinished lines from Hot Toys. That's certainly worth celebrating, even if it means more superhero fare.
I'd get (definitely) Indy... and maybe Predator for the 80s.

and Terminator 2 for the 90s, if they can defeat the likeness from Enterbay 1/4 battle damaged version.

Your 90s membership card needs to burned and your membership permanently revoked specifically for that film.

I thought Queen said getting the license for Disney is troublesome? Why promote Indy and Predator?
Those were added by members. Queen added Terminator, LOTR, and Spider-Man '02 to their appropriate polls, none of which are owned by Disney at the moment.

Really hope they can break through that Disney barrier -- or by pursuing it, catch Disney's attention so they light the fire under Hot Toys to make more complete use of their properties. I don't care who gives me Dutch or Davy Jones at the end of the day, I just want it to happen.

EDIT: Aaaaaaaand The Dark Knight is currently trending below Maguire Spidey and LOTR (from which they've already teased multiple figures). Because what better way to accompany 500 ledger Jokers than with 500 Balemen?

Why go MI at all?

Do people want a little Tom Cruise? I guess if you do, you must want rooted hair -- the long hair he had in IM:2.

IMHO, the best 1:6 figure of Ethan Hunt/Mission: Impossible film series is the one by VTS from years ago inspired by Mission: Impossible III.

We've seen a number of third-party figure and head sculpts over the years inspired by later films in the series.

Before HT gained credibility/respectability, one of their earliest first 1:6 figures was that of Ethan Hunt from Mission: Impossible II that is not licensed. I still have it in my collection displayed in a cabinet.

If I wanted Ethan, I'd have to go MI:1 cropped hair, glasses in the black outfit, hanging by those wires in the white room. I'd like to suspend him in my display just an inch off the glass 'floor' trying to balance himself.

So it's a pass from you on a 1:6 figure of Leslie Nielsen spoofing Mission: Impossible in Wrongfully Accused (1998)?

I thought Constantine, Hellboy, Leonidas and Troy would fare much better than they're doing. It also depresses me to see Tron Legacy and JJ Trek that low. But sure, why not more goddamn Batmen? Every poll, every place, more Batmen. Christ. Now I remember why I'd sworn off Batman... Ah well, at least Maximus is there. Dunno how the Tobey-Man thing works. Are they going to try and get the '02 SM license specifically and sidestep HT like that? If so, I'm conflicted. Why buy the NWH Tobey-Man from HT, if there could be a much better one based specifically on the first film? I want the raised webbing and everything, and a NWH version would possibly not feature that. If it was a write-in option I wouldn't have given it a second thought, but QS specifically adding it is interesting.

I thought the days of hoping for a new Dutch and Predator were over however there is potential there - however small of a chance it may be. Not expecting anything though, especially based on the polls.

How do you add to the poll anyway? Was gonna put Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on there. Probably wouldn't get much traction but......

Maybe not an epiphany, but likely caffeine taking effect after two cups of morning tea before bacon and eggs.

Why are those chiming in about the idiots going off focus with the polls, the idiocy of the polls, and irked about the choices?

Not that this would make a difference or sense, why not conduct a poll within CF where it can hopefully be more controlled and focused? If so, then send a message to that group that'll hopefully reach someone in charge who actually comprehends.

Some 1/6 90s TMNT would be utterly stunning! I bet China are far more likely to enjoy the Bay versions though.

My childhood classics are what I’m most drawn to for spending the big bucks.
This legendary trio

Think I prefer these sequel outfits

And Hook!

There’s some epic potential for next level tailoring and recreating Hook’s wig and tash.

Gladiator, Die Hard and Terminator T1/T2 are a few of my favourite movies so anything from them will be bought.

Now that the final season of The Last Kingdom has wrapped up, it’s reignited my hankering for an Uhtred of Bebbanburg.

Such glorious hair.
I’m sure a 3P is the only chance of ever seeing him and it’s extremely unlikely.

I too have gotten more enjoyment from primarily non-licensed/non-mainstream 1:6 figures/offerings over the years.

Then again, what criteria dictates a 1:6 brand/manufacturers having a first-party and a third-party designation?

In the end, we all collect what we enjoy and periodically bicker about trivial matters and some legitimate/valid topics about the 1:6 hobby in varying degrees and intensity.

As the famous song by Kansas goes . . .

As far as first or third party goes, I assumed (possibly incorrectly) that it was a matter of having the official licensing to produce the figures.

Our 1/6 scale discussions can be fun and/or frustrating at times but mostly the former. Its what keeps us revisiting the forum.

On an unrelated note, "Dust in the Wind" was one of the first songs that I learned to play on the guitar... :wink1:
