In various businesses if a company have the financial means to deny a competitor, then so be it.

HT apparently have the means to do so thus far for the most part, but only time will tell.
Sure it’s a viable business tactic if the license holder only cares about getting their annual check. However, I’m sure most of these are multi-year agreements. So it’s possible that when some of these contracts come up for renewal the licensors might be ticked to see such a paltry output, which equates to both lost revenue and collector/fan disappointment. Maybe license holders will start putting a minimum number of figures into the contracts so even if HT does renew they’ll have to hit those numbers.

Well, that poll couldn't have done more predictably.

A new '89 Bats? Understandable. Catwoman '92? Very understandable. A new TDK Bats? Eh, about as unnecessary as the Joker IMO, but they're already making him so why not? More Batmen from the Arkham games? Are you kidding?

Hot Toys with fancy hair.

Come on QS here's what your future project should be: give the man some respect and honor for opening the door for the genre.

I'm all over this.

If they would risk doing '92 Catwoman, certainly they would go with Penguin too so they can upcharge another $1,000 for villain 2-pack.

Another grand I'd happily hand over to Queen. Queen, you listening? Kit -- please tell them.

Do not listen to or take heed from him.

Unless some actually in the know (@R_R_X ) can validate license holders have dictated a minimum numbers of figures to be produced/sold into contracts, I doubt that is the case.

It all depends on the cost of the license and duration that are the primary factors in virtually all such license agreements. Depending on the license, it's possible certain variations could apply; however, I doubt it what you specified does apply in most licenses we've seen.

In the end, it's a matter of the license holder getting the $ they want while maintaining integrity of the license from the brand/company producing whatever within X amount of time and making $ that covers what they paid, design, marketing, production, distribution, and a reasonable/sizeable profit to continue business and produce more from the license.

HT have a stranglehold on how many licenses throughout the years? I'm guessing Howard Chan paid a good sum to simply hold onto them for the time being.

I hope the mobile games poll is their way of telling us these won't matter very much.

Just like the seriousness and existence of the polls in that group, the group itself, and those participating in the polls who lack real reading comprehension and proudly display their moron badge.

Blitzway made a statue for that Basic Instinct scene a few years ago.

I believe it was 1:4 scale with the chair and base.

I know and it wasn't that great.

I would have preferred 1:6 scale.

BTW, another 1:6 brand that crashed and burned spectacularly years ago once had the license as well, but they did anything with it asides from rumors of a prototype. They got buried with so many production and quality control issues along with financial mishandling.

From what I understand to this day, the owner of the company is considered persona non grata within the small 1:6 manufacturing circle in China/Hong Kong due to unpaid bills.

With so many MCU and DC stuff being added to those polls I'm shocked Reeves never even made it to a top 10, let me remind you Battfleck took the #10 spot in the 80's poll and Andrew/Tobey Spider-men won the 90's one.:slap

I have to come to this forum for the voice of sanity and reason for the most part in this hobby.

Really?

I thought it was mostly about elitism and like-minded collectors with fetish for high-end and high-priced collectibles along with various rebels/renegades fighting against the wind?

After seeing the polls I need to come back here. I'm used to the voices around here.

I do think though that Queen is giving the hobby a kick in the ass. Lukewarm Toys don't really give a **** anymore.

I don't know if any 1:6 brand/manufacturer truly give a **** about the 1:6 hobby.

The bottom line for virtually all of them is to produce products that 1:6 collectors will want and buy.

There are brands/manufacturers that does the preceding well (i.e., HT whether you agree or not is one of them) and those who at times doesn't do it well.

Your comment about Queen Studios/InArt and from others IMHO (and I know most don't give a ****) come off misplaced.

You and others are hedging they're going to revolutionize and reinvigorate the 1:6 hobby with high-end and high-priced 1:6 collectibles rivaling HT.

I call bull on it.

HT right, wrong, and different is #1 for a number of reasons. Within the small circle of 1:6 manufacturers in Asia (mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc.), HT controls/owns the default "AAA" production factory/factories exclusively producing their products supposedly. By no means are they absolute in 100% design and quality all the time. From my understanding, the factory Queen Studios/InArt is using is not considered "AAA", but close enough ("second best"). If the expectation is they're going to outdo HT, then I question if they truly can without the use of a "AAA" factory. We'll have to wait and see.

If I'm proven right, whatever.

If I'm proven wrong, whatever.

In the end, QueenStudios/InArt wins because they get the $ and any issues will be excused by the usual assortment of defenders.

I'm not defending HT. I don't care for them. I have nothing against Queen Studios/InArt. I question the growing cult-following mania exhibited by some along with the open willingness to spend more on something that is not guaranteed.

Queen are in collector's good books because they're a break from the endless onslaught of MCU.

That and every PO comes with a 2 year minimum wait now. Exo 6 have shown it is possible to turn figures around in less than 5 months, but they only have 1 IP to worry about.
