Why is it that members of this board are so quick to jump all over eBay scalpers who sell pieces before they are even shipped, but when it is a board member, everyone is so quick to understand about "funding the collection" or "bills to pay"???


Fact: at least 1/3, if not more, of the board members who pre-ordered the Grey Hulk, have already sold, traded or offered to sell/trade theirs.

This thread seems to have turned to a pro/con on scalping! Again, let me reiterate, I wasn't bashing scalpers or anyone on this board. It is their right to sell their collectibles if they want. The point of the thread and discussion, was the double-standard of bashing eBay scalpers but not board members who do the same. I just wanted people to maybe step back and think before just jumping on every eBay sale that appears to be a scalper. Maybe these sellers are in the same boat; trying to fund something else, can't afford it anymore, etc. Granted, there are known scalpers who do it repeatedly, for just the money; jump on them all you like, but lets try to curb the double-standard just a bit and be a little more tolerant. Please...

Well, the very first post was a question meant to evoke discussion and possibly open some eyes. It has done that and I appreciate that peeps did not turn it into a name-calling or mud-slinging thread. I firmly believe that most everyone of our members are good people, but that sometimes some of them just get caught up in the "mob mentality". With a little open discussion, we can all try to become better members of our little community. As I stated in an earlier post, I am not perfect by any means, so I probably could use a little work myself and probably shouldn't have been quite so antagonistic in the first few posts!

Never sold something before I had it in my hands.
And I always make sure that I can Pay the bills before I order something.
Just me.

Hey Fub, I have NEVER ONCE in my entire collecting history, sold something which hadn't been in my collection for a while. Also, I believe I can honestly say that I have NEVER ONCE chimed in on a thread about an eBay scalper or auction, as far as complaining about it. So while maybe YOU do it, please do lump US ALL in that group. Thank you very much!
