yea, it's a really nice figure. i may even get a second figure so i can display one with the poncho, and one with the robe. i just wish the figure was as perfect as possible, as this is probably the only qui-gon figure sideshow will ever make.

if i had the power i'd change the following things....

1. sculpt the hair attached to his head, and include removable hair attachments that let the owner decide if they want to pose his hair in front or behind his back.

2. make the poncho bigger, the correct color and texture of material.

3. make the tunic and undershirt the correct texture of fabric.

it's probably not too late to make these changes.

Funny how much people complain, but they buy the figure anyway.

People buy it because they have no other options if they want a quality 1/6 Qui-Gon. But that doesn't mean they can't voice their opinions on what they would like to see improved. Maybe Sideshow won't correct anything on these current figures, but public commentary may help design decisions for future figures.

as the owner of many sideshow products, i know it will be a quality product, but there is always room for improvement.

plus, you never know how high the secondary market will go with these exclusives. i gots to get me a 60 inch plasma TV.

Of course it's butt kissing to you for the rest of us it just happens to be the how we honestly feel.

I think butt kissing is saying something you don't really mean in order to flatter someone or get on their good side. If you really mean it, it's just called a compliment. If somebody falsely compliments Sideshow on Qui-Gon's poncho, and they really don't like it, but just want Sideshow to think they're cool, then that's butt kissing.

Sideshow, did I mention that I love Qui-Gon's poncho?

Ahem, I do believe I am the one who said I prefer the current poncho to a more movie accurate one.

As for the butt kissing sometimes I do find myself defending a sculpt that isn't quite perfect because its sideshow so maybe I fall into this category. And because I am in a soapbox mood...there are basically three types of people in the world, two ends of extremists and those in the middle. At times I do tend to go towards the extremist when it comes to sideshow as I mentioned a few lines ago. Then there are the others who are disparaging comments. Saying sideshow sucks is in poor form, but since sideshow itself isn't a person I think it can take the heat, but I think some discretion should be applied when it comes to some negative comments when they get personal. Then there are those in the middle I'll use myself as an example again because its safest, I like the poncho, don't like the hair.

It's 3 am here...golly I get philosophical when I can't sleep.

I've got the exclusive and I'll display him with it until we get Maul and young Obi. Since he first fights Maul with it on, he'll get displayed with it if we get Maul next. But after we get Maul and Obi, it'll go back in the box because I'll be displaying the Dual of the Fates fight scene.

Just a question for you, do you own any sideshow figures? I havent seen anyone requesting more changes with SS stuff than you. Bodies, hair, scupts, clothes, twist ties . . . . . . .

Hey!! Hold on just a minute!! Don't you go and bring twist ties into it!! Those things are evil and must be stopped.

That's one way to know for SURE that somebody is butt kissing--they compliment Sideshow on their use of twist ties...
