, yeah i did but mainly just for the achievement. 
i didn't use the scan of my face for two important reasons...my face scan ended up with these big racoon circles around my eyes...looked like Robert Smith (kit, that's for you)...also if you use the face scan you can use some of the clothing items like masks and sunglasses.
Yeah your armor is pretty heavy duty. You were the only one I couldn't drop with a sniper round to the chest. Thats why I started going for the head shots. No armor for that.
it's definitely a trade-off...i run out of breath after sprinting for 3 or feet.
probably just the lighting conditions when you scanned it, do it in daylight
