I don't understand this constant attempt to adjust Rainman's business model from beginning to end.

From what I can tell the VIPs who got the set they wanted had no problem doing so, because they

A. Stayed up late Saturday and Sunday knowing very well Rainman would open up the VIP slots at any moments notice. They were rewarded.

B. Had a good buddy that woke their *** up until they got their order in.

If I had everybody's number in here I would have called each and every last one of you (After my order was placed of course)

I had multiple alarms for Saturday and Sunday and still almost missed it. If it wasn't for my support system I would have missed out.

For non-Vips it sucks to miss out and it happens, but by the time you become a VIP you should know all the ins and outs. No excuses

I disagree. It was luck, tactic and persistence had nothing to do with it really. Karamazov is right in the fact you can't stay up 24/7 waiting on a whim might may or may not go up. There was a like a 4 or 5 hour window between when I checked and when I secured the double FS. By that time the DX was gone. During that time was when I was sleeping.

sheeeeeeit...i really don't know..i think 4-5 ish in the am...i heard my phone go off because someone had sent me a couple of messages through Facebook...once i read what they said...i was up EAARLY!!!...BUT...at first...i was kicked out...so i kept refreshing for about 5 minutes....and BOOM...a DX opened up....i swooped down so fast to get it...that i was actually caught off guard that i had gotten one....waited a few more minutes and saw a FS driver set pop up and thought that i would just get all of what i needed and call it a day...but i have to thank Army for those messages sent...cause i would have been fighting for all the same scraps as many of you were last night...

100% agree! This thread started positive then took a nose dive when WIPs shown...but at the end seeing everyone try and help each other out in different ways shows the love...if only we could cut out the nose diving part we'd be in business....and the roads would be paved in gold too

Unfortunately that path is a necessity of any rainman thread.

On the other hand, some are here saying they are getting multiple sets for multiple looks. At that point, I think it's fair game to help out someone who would otherwise have nothing, even if he isn't a boardie. Who knows, maybe that would be the gateway to him becoming one! And ultimately, every person here will have had a fair shot of getting something. If I were you, I might try to get him a head/outfit set. . .

My brother was over for my younger daughter's birthday on Saturday and was looking at my figures since I moved them to a new curio. I showed him the pictures of the Taxi Driver figure and he wanted one really bad. I told him that I would try and order one for him during the VIP process or on Tuesday. As I was sitting there and thinking about all the regulars who may be left out, I decided not to pursue one for him. I didn't want to keep someone else from getting one or clog up the process attempting to get one. In my mind, the daily thread contributors and earnest Rainman supporters come before my brother (figure wise that is).

Noble indeed. My brother is not a bystander for the record, I just wanted to make that clear. He is one of the longest standing Rainman supporters and a fellow sideshow freak chilipep66. He has been on the board even longer than I have he just posts less often and does not stir crap up as I often do , he also contributes to the community by creating and selling dioramas here in the interest section. He recently offered a church diorama for Rainman's Bill figure. We have almost exactly the same figures, probably exactly the same RM figures and we don't live in the same home.

I don't have anyone calling to wake my *** up so him and I tag team these releases, always have and always will.

As for your brother you should definitely try and get him a H+C set! Give him the gift that keeps on giving, a Rainman figure!
