$100 is a very good deal for an Aeon painted head. But then, so is her normal rate! $50 was a STEAL.

I think I'm going to go for painted heads tonight, just in case it improves on the 'Man's own work. . .blasphemy to some, I'm sure.

I think Rainman has a very specific style of painting... I don't see it as much on this set, but other times like on the Stansfield or some others it's been more apparent. Whereas Aeon paints the heads more in the style of what we'd expect from HT, but at a higher less factory looking level.

She painted the pupils of the eyes just perfect on these sculpts. She also captured the shadow on the head and face area as well as the great work she did on the creases under the eyes.

If Rainman adjusts his paint on the pupils I think it would look great. From earlier pics it looks like he painted a dot in the pupil which stands out very similar to Wonka's eye work. Should be an easy fix for him when he paints these up. The likeness is there, the previous paint may have hidden some of the fine details.

That scar on the head is terrific. Great that the detail is there.

I know that in the past he has had some tendencies, like giving folks very pink lips and other flourishes of color that demonstrated a kind of stylized look. Almost like they were wearing some subtle makeup. I remember Teddy Daniels actually getting a Rainman head repainted once because of this. The Aeon stuff I've had has maybe looked more realistic, but she tends to do very pale Caucasians. Like someone else pointed out, it works extremely well for Bickle considering his look in the film and psychological state.

But isn't that the idea as they say. Rainman has a style so if you buy a full figure isn't that what you are paying for.

I always thought the people who say "oh it's his style" and than go and get it repainted or start replacing boots or parts on a fullset are hilarious.

Like buying a Picasso and commissioning an artist to repaint the sky because it isn't blue enough.

If you're paying $1500 for something you defend as "stlyized" and still making modifications it doesn't sound to me like your happy with what you're getting. IMO there shouldn't be a need for anyone else to take a crack at sunglasses or anything.

Dear VIPs, DX/FS/ Double FS owners that like the Aeon sculpt:

Please, can you guys pick up individual Aeon sculpts and not the H+Cs, there are ALOT of us with NOTHING right now. I know no one owes anyone anything and if someone wants to have 3-4 "looks" that is their right.

But lets face it, some (not most) of you going for multiple looks will likely end up selling a few of your "extras" for something new when the time comes. Again, nothing wrong about that inherently, but we talk about looking after each other here, and literally, some of us will end up having nothing.

Its hard enough fighting for sets amongst us, and there are tons of people on facebook and etc. that are not posting here. I'm not even confident I can score a single H+C set at this rate.

Sincerely,
Rest of us with nothing

Ok lol, thought I'd ask.

:lol:lol:lol:rotfl

In all seriousness I want the 3 looks preferably so I'll be shooting for a Driver H&C tonight to go with the DX as I need the extra head and everything from it apart from the chequered shirt and the bomber jacket. There's no guarantee I'll get one but gonna give it a go anyway. If I do great if not I'll live with only 2 versions on display.

I get your argument and your more than entitled to voice it but honestly even though I can see where your coming from its not gonna stop me at least attempting to get the bits I want.

I get you, hence I said there was nothing wrong. Its each man for himself after all. Its just a big far cry from the VIP stages where you guys were all "my main man X hasn't got one yet", "gotta take care of my bro Y", etc. You know what I mean, the close knit circle of RM whisperers / RM "true" fans / RM "Vets" / elite collectors, etc. Can't take that away from you guys so be it.

In a few months I predict a lot of extra Bickles will be on ebay or the for sale thread! You couldn't just take his shirt and jacket off and repose it? I see the draw to have all 3 looks displayed but I think its a little much. Just my opinion

It's true to a degree you do get to know the regulars floating around these threads. I am relatively new to RM compared to Die Hards like Magnus, Teddy, Snake, Kara, Gruff, Shorty etc (I've missed loads but you get the idea) who have been a supporter of his virtually since he started making figures. I've only been involved in Rainman's sales for a little over a year and a half but in that time I've got to know some really great people and you do feel bad when they miss out. I've also been helped (in my early stages as a Rainman fan and even to this day) by a number of these people so there is def a sense of camaraderie and If I can help anyone out I will.

I'm not a massive fan of terms like RM whisperers or true fans but it is true there are not that many of us who are around for virtually all of his releases. Not every body picks up them all I personally passed on Pee Wee and Doc but you get to know them the more you hang around here. Do I want you to get what you want this evening? Of course I do the more the merrier but would I step back from what I feel I need or want because of that hell no lol

it may be...but there are iconic scenes that i want to duplicate...and it will require 3 bickles for that....one as the tax driver...one as the psycopath...and one with his shirt off and haired pre psycopath....i fooled around with the idea of doing a bloody end scene Bickle but i don't know if i will pursue that... either way...iconic movie...plus i really hate changing headswculpts and clothing sets...once i put them on...i tend not to touch them...EVER...unless i sell them....which i can count on 3 fingers....:)
