For folks concerned about head/outfit sell outs, one thing to consider is that you also have the option of buying an outfit set and painted head separately, as those are likely to last longer than the combined head/outfit sets. It's $20 more, but if you can't pull the trigger fast enough, that could be a fall back plan. And from that POV, there are actually 25 of each outfit/head set that will be up tonight (instead of 15). The release from a couple nights ago was intense and fast, but keep in mind there were only about 5 of each set made available (10 of the DX). So it stands to reason they went within minutes. Head/outfit stuff could go for 10-15 minutes or longer.

But isn't that the idea as they say. Rainman has a style so if you buy a full figure isn't that what you are paying for.

I always thought the people who say "oh it's his style" and than go and get it repainted or start replacing boots or parts on a fullset are hilarious.

Like buying a Picasso and commissioning an artist to repaint the sky because it isn't blue enough.

If you're paying $1500 for something you defend as "stlyized" and still making modifications it doesn't sound to me like your happy with what you're getting. IMO there shouldn't be a need for anyone else to take a crack at sunglasses or anything.
Yeah, there clearly is always that struggle even among "hardcore" Rainman fans if something is more accurate or improved.

it may be...but there are iconic scenes that i want to duplicate...and it will require 3 bickles for that....one as the tax driver...one as the psycopath...and one with his shirt off and haired pre psycopath....i fooled around with the idea of doing a bloody end scene Bickle but i don't know if i will pursue that... either way...iconic movie...plus i really hate changing headswculpts and clothing sets...once i put them on...i tend not to touch them...EVER...unless i sell them....which i can count on 3 fingers....:)

:lol

Oh I agree I can see why 3 are a must.SHhhheeeeeeeetttttt 4 Bickles is really the only way to get all the icionic looks. I think on display it might look like that Michael Keaton movie Multiplicity!

Going back to the paintwork. If Rainman can paint the pupil more like Aeons I think we're gold. Aeons looks much more realistic and natural while Rainman's early eyepaint up has that dot in the pupil.

It's true to a degree you do get to know the regulars floating around these threads. I am relatively new to RM compared to Die Hards like Magnus, Teddy, Snake, Kara, Gruff, Shorty etc (I've missed loads but you get the idea) who have been a supporter of his virtually since he started making figures. I've only been involved in Rainman's sales for a little over a year and a half but in that time I've got to know some really great people and you do feel bad when they miss out. I've also been helped (in my early stages as a Rainman fan and even to this day) by a number of these people so there is def a sense of camaraderie and If I can help anyone out I will.

I'm not a massive fan of terms like RM whisperers or true fans but it is true there are not that many of us who are around for virtually all of his releases. Not every body picks up them all I personally passed on Pee Wee and Doc but you get to know them the more you hang around here. Do I want you to get what you want this evening? Of course I do the more the merrier but would I step back from what I feel I need or want because of that hell no lol

Its to be expected in such a small community. Most of the boardies are good peeps, but some give off that elitist vibe that i REALLY dislike.

Turbo the eyes are the same its probably just the lightining. Not sure what you mean about a dot in the middle of the eye either?

You've GOT to do the "You talkin' to me??" scene, which is haired sculpt, M65 jacket, and no shirt underneath:

Then after that, he's laying down wearing the M65 with hair and checkered shirt (will need Rambo's sleeping bag accessory to complete this diorama)

And of course, mohawk with no shirt.

Bloody final shootout version.

Bickle at the shooting range version.

Bickle with red jacket for date

Haired Bickle without jacket for scene with Iris.

Bickle with modified short hair (sculpt mod) and no jacket for earlier run-in with the pimp.

Etc. No real fan won't have all these different looks.

. . .those glasses look QUALITY right there :rock

I think the color is a bit off in Rainmans. It seems like a grey with a painted dot. If you look at Aeons she has a nice subtle gloss brown for the eyes.

Thats what we need more of a gloss brown and a bit bigger pupil like Aeons.

After seeing those revised glasses, no excuses should ever be made..... this guy can do anything!! :horror :panic:

Rainman Patch revision please!
All we need, last hurdle and this is without a doubt your greatist Figure Ever!!! :clap

Accurate Graphic for Both M-65 and Tank jackets.

I hear you and that's why I think there is no "wrong" for buying multiple sets, especially if you feel like you need or want them. No one can be the judge of what truly is going on in someone's mind. I personally think 3-4 looks is excessive and one of those extras is bound to end up in the "grail-but-sorry-need-cash" thread. BUT, that is where I may be wrong because some people may be a stronger fan of the movie or character. I'd love to see a stop to RM flipping and resale, so if anything, I'm the biggest supporter of people sticking to their figures. Bottom line is, I'm not hating on you guys who legitimately want multiple figures. I just feel its lame that I may miss out on a single set because someone wants to get a 3rd set. But that IS LIFE. I'm way past the "self entitlement" phase of my life. Been working for years, have a massive mortgage, have a family and kid, etc. I'm not naïve.

Thanks Kara - that gives me a glimmer of hope that I can score one.

Agreed, I think most of you guys are really cool, after all, this is almost like a man-boy-doll-collecting support group. But I am also aware that many people literally have used the words like "true RM fans", "elite collectors", and etc...very annoying to say the least. Is $ spend and having specific items in your collections the indicator of how much better of a collector you are compared to others? I think not.

Nice looks great there...

Fifteen of each tonight ?. Sounds good , I thought it would have been ten. I hope I can grab one , the paint up looks brilliant.

Great shout on the mandarin glasses also , Rainman's look fantastic and miles better but they're a good alternative.
