Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"
I actually watched it earlier this year when I saw a lot of pictures of him in the Rainman interest thread (All from you hahaha) I enjoyed the film, but I was more impressed by the directing than the story. Obviously everyone loves the acting in the movie. I even watched some random review videos on youtube (all with less than 500 views since the movie is so old compared to youtube) but I could not relate to Travis the way some of those guys were repeatedly stressing. Still a great movie to watch... and was refreshing for a guy who grew up only knowing DeNiro as the CIA guy from Meet The Fockers.![ROTFLMAO :rotfl :rotfl](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/old/rotfl.gif)
I may have my Truetype numbers mixed, but the one that's skinny haha. Maybe we should just have a poll... but I don't even know if a majority or even close to that care about how shirtless Travis will look. If he's coming with the mohawk, who is going to be posing him shirtless? 3 of you?
I have the Enterbay MIB figures... the bodies are easily the worst of allll the figures I own. I have to put them in their own detolf shelf since they do indeed look out of scale with other figures I own. Worst part is that their poseability is extremely limited by their stand since the knees aren't wobbly... but marionette level of loose. Love the paint/sculpts of the heads so I still enjoy this release, but the bodies are a huge disappointment. I sometimes find myself wondering if Rainman really wanted a black body simply for people who would even want to pose Jules with his dork clothes on. (Doubt that's very many, if any) Since Jules wears a suit and the head has a neck sculpted onto it, none of the body is visible wearing the suit. And I'm sure Rainman could have just painted the hands.
Asked Rainman about using a truetype, and he said his tailor told him using a HT truetype is "almost similar but not bad." I'll probably still try to find an Enterbay body, but I'm really hoping Rainman shies away from using them in the future until they work the problems out.
The idea is to get this as a ball jointed neckless version similar to Bill. Travis Bickles jawline is perfect for that BL body neck. The only real issue is sculpt size. If Rainman works with the BL body than he's also forced to work with adapting a better size for the sculpt, one that works well with the BL.
Ultimately it's what Rainman decides. Mags and I are going to find out soon enough what he can and cannot do. So far there's been alot of positive feedback so we're definately on the right track with this project.
By the the way have you watched the movie yet? You said you were going to watch it. If you did what did you think?

I suppose a body repaint will be the only remedy but then Rainman should be the one to paint it; if not that opens up other issues. If he won't paint the body himself then I'm assuming he would try to match the sculpts skin tone to the body. How will that effect our efforts in getting the body painted after the fact?
I hope that the pointmen, those who are advising and in essence holding the reigns on this could see the big picture and give better advise than was given on the PF boys. There's a little extra time to think things thru and sensibly. Let's not end up with bad choices like the Enterbay body. Hopefully wiser choices can be made this time around

If the only other option was that Knockoff body that was suggested, then I'd rather go with the enterbay body.
Sam Jackson is 6'2 and John Travolta is 5'11 so there is going to be a difference in height. I can't comment on it being to wide or muscular but again we dont have it in hand so you can't assume that no mods have been done to it.
Also that body choice was Rainman's. He had a good connect with Enterbay and had to pull some favors for those bodies. I don't see many other options for African American bodies.
I see no problems with the body other than to cause confusion.
And to clear things up, I was not a pointman for Pulp Fiction, I wasnt even sure I was going to go in on it - But I intend to be a Thorn in Rainman's side for Travis Bickle
Anyways, Postive Vibes Fellas....Travie is going to be a Masterpiece. That's the intention.
