Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

If you take all the letters that make 'cutterluv', remove the 'e' and put the 'l' in front of the 'u', then dispose of those two together and the rest of the remaining letters, then replace with 'h-s-a-d-f-l-w-o-a' in a specific order, it makes 'shadowfla'.

Coincidence?

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

3k its on!!! and I'll commission a diorama for him too!! Rainman is being paid and ideas were asked for. I have a Travis that I put together but this project sounds really exciting. It's up there for me like my dream figure of Matt Dillon from Drugstore Cowboy complete with needles, cookers and pills.

Thank you!! I meant Barbie as a shortcut to thinking, just as she came with a lot of interesting accessories in her sets. Some lame, but if you look, those sets were really packed with accessories.

I'm covered in tats but I don't have one of these, some I saw are pretty fly.

This project is exciting and I have no talent for worked sculpts and art but id love to finance a diorama for Travis Bickle. I'm not setting a limit for this figure, I'm pretty stoked for it. I've owned the film in so many formats since the 70s but one thing has never changed and that's my enthusiasm for it.

Drugstore Cowboy is a great shout! Love that flick :rock

BTW I can't see most of the pics you posted. I only see the tatted up dude and the GTA style render

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Broken English stupid?

Come meet me at the Austin film festival in October, I've adapted a screenplay from my novel that I wrote about being shot in the back while on duty as a Detroit police officer, working the beat I grew up in. Brightmoor. A subhuman project of Detroit on five mile. A place you two couch potatoes wouldn't last a second in.

I'm writing on an iPad stupid, and I'm on on morphine and OxyContin, which would make anyone skip a beat. These virtual keyboards suck it hard.

Subtle hints? You two have subtle hints you're men. Subtle.

Focus on the thread. It's about Taxi Driver and Rainmans awesome announcement about producing one of our most coveted, prized characters of all time, Travis Bickle. If I remind you two of an old boyfriend, well, "there's porno theaters for that"

Dude just because you've been shot does not make you entitled to belittle others. You have no idea what the other person has been through and just because they are on these boards (Like you) does not mean they cannot go through what you have been through. They've probably been through worse.

I've had supervisors go through some real **** and they have been some of the nicest, humblest people I ever met. 1 was in the Battle of Mogadishu and the other was blown up by a car bomb while on patrol in Afghanistan (The rest of his 9 member squad was killed).

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

I was talking to Rainman and told him I'd be sending him a copy of Taschens new oversized Taxi Driver art book today, this will undoubtably help him with this release!

You're the man dude :hi5:. That's an awesome gesture and a perfect way to repay the favor

Just realized the nipples are way off.

Scrap that idea Turbo. :banghead

:rotfl. But seriously, the skin tone is quite a bit off. I wish there was a body with equally good proportions but a skin tone better suited for a Caucasian. IDK if this BL idea is the best choice

This has already been briefly discussed with the powers that be. There are options on the table for a possible repaint, nothing set in stone yet, but some ideas are floating around. Also with the arsenal of experienced Master painters on this thread why would somthing as simple as a body repaint cause you to raise up? There are plenty of options.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

I honestly think Rainman should just use one of the new HT truetypes like the 21. Like Turbo's saying... lots of great painters for whatever body you prefer. I just don't agree with the ones being tossed around.

The idea is to get this as a ball jointed neckless version similar to Bill. Travis Bickles jawline is perfect for that BL body neck. The only real issue is sculpt size. If Rainman works with the BL body than he's also forced to work with adapting a better size for the sculpt, one that works well with the BL.

Ultimately it's what Rainman decides. Mags and I are going to find out soon enough what he can and cannot do. So far there's been alot of positive feedback so we're definately on the right track with this project.

By the the way have you watched the movie yet? You said you were going to watch it. If you did what did you think?

I suppose a body repaint will be the only remedy but then Rainman should be the one to paint it; if not that opens up other issues. If he won't paint the body himself then I'm assuming he would try to match the sculpts skin tone to the body. How will that effect our efforts in getting the body painted after the fact?

I hope that the pointmen, those who are advising and in essence holding the reigns on this could see the big picture and give better advise than was given on the PF boys. There's a little extra time to think things thru and sensibly. Let's not end up with bad choices like the Enterbay body :slap. Hopefully wiser choices can be made this time around

A 21?

Accuracy starts from the sculpt down. Rainman's paint has never been an issue. We are prepared to let him know that we're anticipating that pastey Travis Bickle skin tone. Bickle's skin tone is very similar to Bill's, but is not far off from that BL body at all.

I still don't get the Pulp Fiction Jules enterbay argument? Personally I don't see any problems with that choice, but either way you can't judge somthing that you haven't even held in your hands yet? You cant keep saying that body was the wrong choice when we don't even have the finished product. We don't know if somthing's been done to it. Let's see.

I went to Forbiden Planet where they have both MIB boys on display along with a bunch of different HT figs. They wouldn't let me handle it but I asked if they can take Agent J out of his case (which was across the room from the other HT) and stand him next to some of he HT figs in their display case. They did it for me and he absoultly dwarfed Bane. So I did see that first hand with my own eyes.

Also everyone who owns it is confirming that it's too wide and muscular for Jules. You can even see in the pics on RM's site that the proportions are wrong for Jules. But now we have a suit tailored for this so theres no going back. There are countless reports of wobbly knees (so in fact the knock off has even tighter joints then this body produced by a licensed company. Go figure). That's enough for me to make an assement without having this in hand. Whether you want to believe it or not, the AA KO body (possibly with long foot pegs) was the way to go.

The advisors and reign holders have to think straight, see the big picture and help RM make wiser decisions. Their advice effects the release greatly so it's important to be smart

Just for the record. No one influenced Rainman to use the enterbay bodies. He went with what was available to him. I guess we'll see how well that bodes real soon! :wave

If the only other option was that Knockoff body that was suggested, then I'd rather go with the enterbay body.

Sam Jackson is 6'2 and John Travolta is 5'11 so there is going to be a difference in height. I can't comment on it being to wide or muscular but again we dont have it in hand so you can't assume that no mods have been done to it.

Also that body choice was Rainman's. He had a good connect with Enterbay and had to pull some favors for those bodies. I don't see many other options for African American bodies.

I see no problems with the body other than to cause confusion.

And to clear things up, I was not a pointman for Pulp Fiction, I wasnt even sure I was going to go in on it - But I intend to be a Thorn in Rainman's side for Travis Bickle :lol

Anyways, Postive Vibes Fellas....Travie is going to be a Masterpiece. That's the intention.

Then I gotta tell you that you're just wrong on that one bro. The proportions of the TTM18 are WAY more suitable for Jules than the MIB body and the MIB body is way to tall. I saw it with my own eyes and anyone who owns it can confirm. The height disparity between the KO and the TTM21 was easily fixed with long foot pegs. EVERYONE WHO OWNS THEM TALK ABOUT THE WOBBLY KNEES. So if you think going name brand is the better option, that's just flat out incorrect in this particular case. Big deal that this was produced by an official company. This was a body that an official company produced that had QC issues.

Name brands aside, if the KO has tighter joints than the EB (and joint strength was everyone's qualm with the KO), and the proportions on the KO are better suited for Jules then how 1) is the EB a better quality body & 2) how is it a better representation of Jules?

Good post but Pop's still has me leary! Gotta have that baby in hand! C'mon Jules!!!

What do WOBBLY knees affect? Will the figure not stand correctly?

Maybe we should move this conversation to the Jules thread, It probably needs a bump :lol
