Really like the new sculpt although it might be hard to pose considering the eye position. So far, so good though!

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

So out of curiosity why did Rainman change the expression? Does anyone know?

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Absolutely no idea. Luckily I love both :)

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

I see a lot of Travis there. I'm glad to see so much support for this already , I hope this truly does turns out to be his masterpiece like everyone is hoping.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

The like needs is still good but I liked the first one better. I hope he's not going to really paint the eyes in that direction and go for that end of the final battle look.

That's a wonderful likeness! I think I preferred the original expression though. I can't make my mind up. Not sure if that expression is too scene specific.

You want the smirk to be the main sculpt but your worried about this looking too scene specific?

Absolutely.

Whilst the smirking sculpt is very scene specific, it is a very cool pose and look for Travis. My concerns over the latest shot is much like you pointed out. The eyes painted in that direction limit the sculpt potentially to the scene RM has depicted (sitting down, bloody gun hand pose). I know which scene specific Travis I would prefer.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

I am sure your right Tim, just a minor concern.

Asked Rainman on FB if we are getting the Randolphs. I really hope we are

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Yeh I can understand that bud.

There's no excuse not to have them seeing as Harrow got his glasses.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

I personally preferred the first attempt but still loving this one :). It's really nice to see RM letting us have a good look at his WIP's and his decision making it can only aide the release as a whole!

I guess it's all subjective and preference because I think it's never a good idea to make any figure too scene specific. Maybe a specific look is good as a DX sculpt but not for the main one. That takes away all versatility and if you could only pose it one way then to me it's not a figure anymore; it's a mini PF. Gurney Lector is basically the only character that comes to mind that is an exception (for obvious reasons).

I’d love the DX sculpt to be smiling or bloodied. To me that would round out and complete this specific look and Taxi Travis could have been a separate offering with its own specific outfit & accessories. If the bloodied sculpt were the DX of course it’d only make sense in my book if the bloody shirt & jacket were offered too; of at least the option to buy an extra shirt & jacket to bloody ourselves.

I don't think that he'd really paint the eyes like that either but I just mentioned it pointlessly. If you take away the blood and face the eyes straight, what we have there is a neutral sculpt; I'm assuming that's the direction he's going.

I liked the emotion and the personality of the first sculpt but maybe he changed it because Travie doesn't really appear much with that Krinkle in his brow (see that :)), at least as far as I remember.

I think you are absolutely correct Pop...I had no problem with the first sculpt...but this one, awesome as well, is more screen accurate regarding brow.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Can somebody post the two pictures from RM side by side?

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Snake, thank you for posting the two. On the second/newer sculpt, from the eyes down, I see Bruce Willis.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

The more I look at it, the top definitely looks like it fits the long hair look. I'm digging the way this is going big time! :)
