If rainman had attained perfection on this or the PF guys I dont think we'd be even talking about this.

And I mention my dioramas because I want to illustrate that I too know what's it like to craft something with my own hands. So it IS relevant to my points. Aside from that I've been in the creative fields for a 15 year career. I make television and film content and although its not sculpting it's subject to the same objective and subjective opinions that all art is. My knowledge of rainman is inference. But inference based on 15 years of professional experience in artistic fields and many more years of amateur art making before that.

an lastly why are offended that I'm expressing my opinion?! That's what this forum is for. The defensive nature of your post flies in the face of the very point your are trying to make: that everyone is entitled to see it their way.

I'm offended because Lee is a friend of mine beyond this collecting thing and your coming across like you know his whole operation and how he lives. Just sat wrong with me is all.

And by friend you mean you guys hang out? You've been to his house? Had drinks at happy hour? You and him may not be any better friends than me and you are. In fact It could be that you and I have probably communicated more over the years on this forum and through Facebook than you and lee have. Especially considering his limited English.

I'm sorry I offended you. Buy do I feel he gave 100%? No. I don't. That's my opinion. I'm entitled to it. It's conjecture as all opinion is. Could I be wrong? Yes. In which case then rainman's talent or limitation there of is the problem because I don't see deniro in that sculpt.

Good comments guys, but I think it may be a little overboard to imply that RM doesn't care about the art but only cares about the business. Full time job or not, I think he does care about the quality and art aspects. I forgot what it says but his cert of authenticity says something like "you take my art or passion or whatever". I know it sounds cliché and probably isn't always true with every single release, but it definetly had to be true in some releases.

I think the "business aspect" of things forces or maybe to put it more softly "encourages" him to take on projects that he personally isn't interested in, but the fans want.

I think Serang's figures are super crazy good as well, very stylized and not necessarily my taste, but he does what he wants to do and you can tell from his work. Other artists (e.g. Wake's dios, Robbie and everything he touches are things he cares about) here that are very good also tend to work on projects they feel passionate about, and again, it shows in the results.

Anyways, I think RM is proud of his work as he should be, and I'm just happy that he is around to bring us the figures we want. But we should keep in mind, his choice of projects is definitely influenced by what fans say, and maybe not every time he is that passionate about the particular character. But that is a trade off that we should expect.

Now your telling me about me? I'm sorry but I've only met you in the past year and we haven't chatted close to that. I do share things and talk more than with him then that but its not your business for me to go into it or prove to you. And he can hold a conversation just fine.

i think thats where the inherent disconnect is with alot of the members here....if he chooses to make whatever character without any influence...then any argument started in here or any of his past threads would go away as far as people stating that "its his artistic" representation of said character...but since he has a thread in which people dictate what character they would like seen come to life next...it creates something that eventually takes on a life of its own...as seen here and other threads...lol
