Terrible photo but this is the pose I ended up going with.

Shows Vincent with his jacket open while hiding the snap and I think it looks cool haha.

That is a nice pose :clap

I'm really into some of what Iminime are doing as well (I fully intend to get Narrator, Durden, and McClane). But the material in the clothing alone makes a world of difference. Thinking of the cheap suits the Seven guys and Ra's have versus what Vincent has is no competition whatsoever.

Two heads with slightly different paintwork--difference is actually more dramatic in-hand without flash:

Very nicely put together Sam, he looks great! :rock

This really is an absolute triumph!
A masterpiece again! I know I moan about the release being light, but the actual figure itself is nothing short of spectacular!
Amazing work yet again Rainman :rock

Just out of curiosity, have any of you seen Iron Man 3 yet? There's, what I think, at least, is a fairly obvious nod to Vincent. At least, that's what popped into my head.:lol

Ouch.

thats a sweet pic and set up, Sam. Love that Zelda Link figure btw :wave
Thanks. If you are into the smaller plastic figures, you can't do much better than Figma in my opinion. That Link really is awesome. On a side note, BBTS is claiming that that figure and Samus (Metroid) are getting a U.S. re-release, and has pre-orders up for $50.

I never got a chance to get R'as or the Se7en guys. Got pics of their suits for comparison?
There is a thread for each of those. You might not be able to tell easily with pics, but trust me, it's night and day when you have these in-hand. I don't think it's a knock to say that Rainman's tailor gives you Hot Toys quality outfits. Which is really impressive when you consider the nature of the figures.

Just got my head and clothes set and while I'm delighted I'm struggling to put it together. This is my first time "dressing" a figure so to speak and I'm wondering how to get the head and shoes on without damaging them. The body is a TTM21 as was suggested.

There's risk there, considering you have to use glue and some force. I've done some minor damage to Rainman figures trying to put them together in the past. The shoes are pretty easy once you get the hang of it though. You need to get feet from a Truetype, pry the peg connector out, whittle off the little side pegs (if you have one of the newer ones as the TTM-21 does) so that it is completely round on the sides, then apply glue to the sides and bottom of the connector, stick it in the shoe and let it sit until the glue dries.

The head is similarly simple in concept--glue the head to a Truetype neck joint, let it set, then apply to the body. This head was worrisome to me though, first because I knew how fragile it was after the little piece chipped off the back. But also, the head is made of multiple pieces so you could do real damage trying to push it down onto the neck. This was doubly problematic because the superglue wasn't holding the first few times I tried and the head kept coming off the neck. So I had to anxiously apply the head to the body 3 or 4 times before it was finally done :lol

Thank you so much for the info! Will have to take some time over this I think so I don't damage anything.

Yeah, patience is a virtue when it comes to these things. One word of advice--check the ankle connectors once you've got them prepared, and make sure they fit easily in the little cavities in Rainman's shoes before applying the glue. One of the two shoes I got from Rainman had a slightly wider hole than the other one, and I only tested one at first and the second one didn't fit well without some additional work.

Yeah that will be something to check for. Don't want for them to not fit properly! :lol

I really can't wait for our man in Inglewood :rock

Just hope the proportions look right. He has got Vince spot on, so no reason to believe he wont nail Jules :)

Got this guy together finally, and he sure is a beaut. I initially had reservations with the choice, but with everything put together the simplicity really works. This is a classy, high end piece of art, and the product shows this all the way including the classic look of the character. I wouldn't feel nearly this satisfied with Iminime handling the release. This is really the kind of figure that reminds me why I'm into these damned things to begin with. Magnet in the jacket would have been nice, but otherwise a home run.

By the way, I tried the Lector fat suit and it was just too bulky for the outfit to work. Pants wouldn't button easily and jacket was too hard to try and force on. I think it actually gives you a better impression for Travolta's real girth than the Rainman foam, but outfit just won't allow it without putting a strain on it that I wasn't willing to risk.

I'm glad you're a believer now :yess:. A piece like this is easy be doubtful of because of its's simplicity and it's probably not easy for people who don't have it in hand to recognize its quality. This isn't something that is going to blow you in pics. This is like an extremely fine wine in the way that you'd never be able to appreciate it if you poured a pint and chugged it in a 5 count. The only way to really understand it's quality is to sip slowly and let it sit on your taste buds. This is head to toe class :duff

And speaking of it's presence in pics, nothing is doing this any justice thus far. The pics are great and it's cool to see everyone's contribution but in all of these the sculpt appears cartoonish. To me it looks nothing like that and in hand there is a MUCH greater realism there.

CONGRATS ON THIS BOYS!!!!!

We need the rest of the line :rock

:goodpost: Couldn't agree with you more Pop! :rock

I've hated most pics I've taken of him...but in person this figure is top notch and Travolta all the way!
