Rushed? This went up over 2months ago and if we get it at the end of the month that's 3 Months...

I think he meant from this point on to get everything ready by end of June seems rushed. lee's only on the knives, looks very preliminary at the moment. Rainman was probably waiting for all the pieces and clothing to come in for the first 2 months, and assemble them this month. Hopefully his standards are kept.

Yes exactly.

Wouldn't surprise me if the man himself didn't actually paint those pig heads. From my understanding, he doesn't usually paint the non-head sculpt parts.

I've seen you say that before recently and that's the first I've heard of it. I'm not sure where you heard that and I'm not saying that it's definitely not true, but I'd be surprised as all hell. All his accessories are super clean and IMO are even a cut above a lot of other stuff I see done by some very talented people here. I'm just talking about average stuff like guns, Wonka's cane, Pee Wee's horn and the like. That average stuff alone is done to the highest level but when it comes more intricate things like the weathering and super clean apps to Anton's captive bolt gun, weathering on the blonde colored handle in Bill V2's knife set, the wood grain on Plainview's rifle and so on, that really takes the hand of a master. If there is someone else doing that stuff, then he has a helper that may be a better painter than anyone on this forum. And that's saying a lot!

It's very hard to pump out this many items with the consistency that we are used to in his sets. It takes a grand-master. I remember when Denny posted the WIP of Rick's rifle I was more than impressed. The wood grain app was so incredible the first thing I said was "that's a RM level accessory". The production rifle that we got was very different. Denny explained that it took his painter hours to do just that one proto rifle and they had to simplify it for the production piece because the guy said it was impossible for him to do 80+ of them to that standard.

Ya but just because we are seeing him assemble the knives doesn't mean that everything else is still waiting, for all we know all the sculpts could be painted, outfits coming soon, and belts completed

I wouldn't be too worried. I'm sure it's safe to assume that sculpts and maybe shillelaghs or something are wrapped up already. I don't think the message behind the pic of beat-up hands and knife blades is that he's just getting started :wink1:

EDIT: AJK beat me to it :lol

I was more so going by the "I cant see the finish line" comment.

Yo yo yo what have I been missing gents, Bill going to be sent tomorrow? Did someone send him a gift certificate for a manicure what! Seriously though I think he's just finishing up the blades that's probably the longest and tedious part! Oh Billy I love you

Thanks for the link. I read thru that thread a long time ago but I must have skipped over that part. I see he said that DF did the shoes (and of course the H&C sculpts) but was there ever anything else that stated this was a constant (like every release)? I wouldn't doubt that he gets some help on the less intricate parts, but I'd be surprised if the highly detailed stuff gets subbed out; even for H&C and Clothes sets. There's some stuff that I own from him that I'd be extremely surprised if they were done by apprentices. And if there is a helping hand aside form Aeon, I wonder who it is because DF has been out of the picture for awhile now; at least to my understanding. I know that he was art director on some early Iminime projects but I'm assuming that they didn't help with Rainman Artwork offerings

Yeah, Rainman's partners have always been really good, whether it be DF Studios, Iminime, or Aeon. They did great head paint work, so no reason for me to think they couldn't do fine details on accessories. Rainman hasn't explicitly stated that those guys have worked on every single project doing shoes and accessories, but it stands to reason to me from his post ". . .so i can focus to paint face." He may well do the pigs because they are DX. Maybe he even does the fullset items sometimes. But I don't know that he would need to if the job is just as good as the prototype and no one makes a big fuss about it.

I don't know if you can take certain things too literally because a lot gets lost or misconstrued in translation. IMO while all the others are talented painters, I don't feel that Aeon or anyone from DF or Iminime are equals to RM. I have no doubt that they are well capable of handling many of the accessories, but I think that RM does the heavy lifting. I'm just making an educated assumption based on comparing various artists stuff (not only Iminime's & RM's), but I have no clue what goes down behind the scenes so I could be wrong

You keep using that phrase. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Yea, Bickle broke that 3-4/year groove. But he stated that after Bickle he had other side projects that took him away from Artworks for a bit.

So what do you guys think will be next after Torrance? :lol
