Damn, looking at those close up shots I'm not so sure the sculpt has the insert for the pipe. It looked to me like it was there but only a pic with sculpt and pipe will confirm it.

The interchangeability option of using the dandy sculpt on a v1 Bill makes owning the complete set that much more special. All I've cared about from day 1 was getting that dandy sculpt with pipe on the brawler!

I hope that pipe can be used, but I just took another look at the unpainted sculpt and it looks like you can't use it. Damn!

The pattern is dead on. Yunsil and Rainman did a good job replicating it.

Well with the pipe coming as part of the set it would of made sense to be able to place it in the mouth like plainveiws otherwise it's a pointless accessorie IMO hmm let's hope this isn't the case here .

The unpainted sculpt on lees website was the first to be photographed and put up maybe it were changed to the hole peice before casting

If not, and he decides to do it at this point, I would expect the same thing he did with haired Bickle--he just drilled holes and didn't even repaint them. At that point, let each collector reserve the right to drill or not drill.

Here, here. Hoping he doesnt drill them all considering only fs gets the pipe.

We certainly wouldn't want him putting holes in those beautifully painted sculpts at this point. We'll see when it's in hand but if it's fitted for the sculpt or not, it's an amazing accessory and I'm glad we're getting it either way.

DX and Fullset get the tobacco pipe accessory.

Agreed. We already brought a handful of things to his attention he and came thru for us. If the pipe thing was important it should've been brought up months ago, but even mentioning it now would just be breaking his chops way too late in the game. He's been at this for a while; I'm sure he wants to be done with it and keep it moving.

And like Phine said it would only really made sense if it was done to FS/DX's. That's something he probably would've done since it's only about 2/3 of the run and not the entire thing; but still I think the proper time to even mention it has long past.

Ah I thought only fs. Still though, I dont think the hole is necessary at this point. If you want a pipe hole just carefully drill it in urself. Otherwise another bickle fiasco may happen with the fs/dx's.

I don't remember any Bickle fiasco regarding drilling holes after the fact. The holes in that haired sculpt was a decision he made during the process and were part of the sculpt from the beginning without us knowing that was happening when it was only necessary for one sculpt.

@Popcultkid: What's done is done and these are ready to ship so that's great news, and yes it was brought up earlier during the feedback stage. Again it's all speculation at this point since we don't know whether or not it's possible to use with the sculpt but common sense would suggest that a pipe accessory could be used with the sculpt the same way it served its purpose for the Plainview sculpt. Just a little strange we haven't seen a pic with the pipe being used that way. But I agree, nobody wants anyone drilling holes in sculpts at this stage of the game.

Your right but the suggestion that Rainman could go back and possibly "drill holes" in sculpts is a bit of a stretch that looks like it's causing ya'll some unecessary worries. We know that's not gonna happen .
But just to reiterate, the Bickle holes in the haired sculpt was not the direct result of requests by customers. This was somthing that was already going on as a regular part of the production. Even then of the entire lot of haired sculpts that had those holes, only a handful I believe were defective to the point were the holes were very visible and unsightly. Mine for example are not so visible as compared to some of the other sculpts that caused those justified complaints.

No man, I'm not worried at all . I actually agree and would've liked a hole for the pipe. All I was saying is I'm happy that he took our suggestions into consideration, apparently agreed with them, and made changes that resulted in great improvements. I think that mentioning it now would rock the boat and wear him thin, but I know that you're just talking about keeping your fingers crossed for it, not about bringing it up to him.

As for the Driver sculpt, that was actually due to fan request as per the Man himself. He said that people were saying they just got the Driver version and they have these glasses that they can't use unless holes are drilled. I do get that logic but I don't really agree because he never wears the glasses while sporting the "Driver" look. It's no biggie to me because like yours the drill job on mine is clean and not that noticeable, but I can see why people were annoyed if their's stood out. I think that was a bad decision and exactly why I said yesterday good suggestions lead to great improvements; not so good ones don't

Not to kick this can down the road any further but I don't remember it like that at all. The only time he responded to the reason as to why holes were put in the haired sculpt was when he was pressed to respond to it and the poor decision made to drill holes in the side of that sculpt. I don't really recall anyone asking Rainman to make that mod, that was his decision because he thought it the only way to use the glasses with the sculpt since the hair covers the ears. He had to find a way to make it a useful accessory since it was being offered as general accessory for both versions. I wasn't too thrilled with that decision either when it was revealed to us and pointed it out why he chose to do it when Cabbie Bickle doesn't use the glasses for that look in the firstplace. Anyways it's all on record so anyone can go back and take a look if they're concerned with it

But back to Bill and the pipe, good suggestions are great but common sense is necessary.
