Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

I never seen so much frustration over the RM order process as I have in this thread lately :dunno

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

It sucks to miss. I completely understand the frustration but the ordering process is what it is and the new guys have to learn to accept it (or not) like the rest of us who are used to this.

Iminime's new ordering policy is a Godsend and probably the best improvement that they have made of late. They only had the cart-jack madness going on with Blondie but they have continued to improve and gain popularity; I suspect that this would have became the norm for a lot of their releases. The difference is they are the only entity on these boards that do business like this and it's fitting for their business model. If they get 127 orders within the PO period, they'll make 127 sets. No other customizer has the capacity for that kind of output so the majority of people here handle the process in the same or similar way to Rainman.

If Rainman ever figures out a way to triple production and match Iminime's numbers (while still keeping the quality consistent in each set) then he could probably rethink a better sales structure. But until then he has more takers in line than available sets, so things will always play out this way :dunno

Check the previous rainman threads. This is business as usual for rainman, it's been like this since way back in 09 for every single release (except for maybe mad dog Seinfeld figure).

That's true but I think it's usually the newer guys that always get vocal about their frustration. Aside from the Dude where I remember seeing a lot of vets who were pissed at the process and he ended up extending the run (because the process isn't what anyone should be disappointed about, it's the edition size :lol). I think that was the release that made him up his average ES to 30; prior to that it was 20 per set.

Then has he got more popular he had to go from 30 to 35 and now to 40. His popularity continues to grow so maybe he can consider adding a few more to the mix going forward. If he is able to stretch it to 45 for FS and maybe 25 & 25 for H&C's and clothes sets, that'll leave less people in the cold

I believe its only going to get worse with each release, and as more folks become VIP's, its going to make it even harder for us non VIP's:lecture

It's even become hard for VIP's! We're not guaranteed anything and plenty of VIP's missed out too. The biggest perk for being a VIP now is that you get 2 chances.

But the last two releases were hectic because they were popular choices. If he offers up something with less people after it, it will naturally be easier. Providing that the likeness will be strong, I think Torrance will be as bad as this and Bickle was. Maybe worse :lol

I hope he considers upping that ES

VIP pay their share to be given first preference ... period.. I am not a VIP but we shld all respect that... Now, having said that...

Whatever i say here, is not cause of lack of respect for RM.. Its infact for a tremendous amount of respect. With that respect, comes unmatched expectations, and unfortunately a bit of a zero tolerance scenario...

I CAN LIVE WITHOUT RAINMAN FIGURES... Period... :) ... It is what it is. Starting with Torrance. If i get it, i get it... If not, i will happily pass and buy 2 other figures. I can live with 3 odd missed releases a year... Bill was an exception for me and yes i will still go crazy over exceptions, but i can honestly pass on much of his releases. (I know its like a sin to say it here) but its the truth. At some point in time reality does not tag hand in hand with hype. There was a time i paid 2/3 times for HT releases when they were sold out... But off late i learned to live with it... This shld not be tough either.

You will see we are all new and many old veterans sat out on this release, thats how life works, initial euphoria and then common sense kicks in...

i am not saying this for myself, cause even if he made 100 each of full set and Dx i would probably still pass them... I just dont see merit in that kinda of dollar spend (can i afford oh yes, do i feel its right to spend, hell no) ... I am way lower than many here in the food chain (from a craving to spend1000+ a figure perspective) it is way way too much for me... 500 is too but what can one do ;) ... For bill i had a budget for dx but the brba dx is around so i dint even log in to buy it.. Not that i wld be able to anyways.

You guys have one less fighter going forward, i may still be around to just jack your carts for sadistic pleasures... :) JK...

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

I would like to make an apology to all my fellow member for the kicking and screaming I did last week, I really wanted to be part of something special and felt like I was missing out the the party of a lifetime. After doing some research most of the ordering process problems was my own fault..... I was manually entering all the information like the Address, City, Zip code and phone number. I was not aware of the box you check to automatically enter that information for you. I spent valuable time continually adding this information every time I refreshed and my cart was emptied. If I would have know that I would have more than likely secured a figure. In all honestly I wasn't actually as upset as I boasted, I am sort of a drama queen at times. Now I know what to expect and I am glad that it happened because I might have not got to know you guys a lot more . I think I will have a fun and adventurous journey within SSF and hope to make friends for life.

Even if u did automatically which most of us did ... You would still get that message :) always... ;) u will be faster and may get that 10 times instead of 5... Does auto fill help surely, but the cart jacking is still the same...u may get lucky bucketing one, but can't avoid cart jacking.

:lol:lol

Well that definitely added time to each checkout attempt, but there's no way of knowing if that is what held you back. It really boils down to timing. I think it has a lot more to do with how many people are trying to squeeze thru the crack simultaneously when you are actually hitting the "Check Out" button than how long it takes to fill out the form. But then again spending extra time filling the form will allow you fewer chances in submitting. And that's another big factor in this; repetition. It takes most people 6-10 tries before they push thru.

No Problem Lakhota :1-1: The key is you have to be fast on your computer, and don't panic:panic: It took me more that 6 tries to land The Butcher full set. The first time I tried ordering a Rainman figure, I struck out and was like @#$% THIS! :lol But I keep coming back for the Fun and Games :monkey3

It showed me 10 cart jacks before i moved to separates... So while some get lucky, u could get that darn cart jack for eternity and no luck...
I fail to understand one thing, there are head sculpts for sale and no outfits to go with it. He outsources outfits so what's the challenge in taking orders and doing more of those. Exclusivity... Hmmm...thats for full sets and dx anyways cause he does not touch others. I also understand people may want different outfits commissioned, but some may just want outfit and not sculpt so there shld be pretty much similar inventory.
Anyways who am i reasoning with...

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

I am seriously frustrated at this first come first serve ******** ordering process... at weird times of the day...8pm CET was 5am at my time... come on seriously it should not be even the case.... wake up at 5am to order? i tried to wake up but couldnt... didnt hear the alarm..

but why the hell do we have this forum and we show intereste and rainman comes in and sees us interested and all and then we miss making the order...

the system has to be fairer... i am seriously frustrated.. i wasnt able to grab anthg... i wanted the full set, couldnt get it... tried for h+c couldnt get it....

both my orders with iminime were amasingly smooth... and my order with Johnny for Freddie was smooth he took deposits of interested people and made the figures accordingly... but no, Rainman has to be a crazy stampede first come first serve basis where i should ****ing wake up at 5****ing am in the morning... ********....

I was letting the fumes out on this one lol

Thanks guys for lsning lol

There will still be some abandoned orders in the next few days.

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

the problem with that is... for some of us who had to buy separates and have paid up, we cant jump orders too.... whichever way you look at it, its a ctach 22... unless someone gets one who hasnt gotten any. but does not help ones who got full ilo dx, h+c ilo full, and seprates ilo of h+c and have paid RM already... :slap

There will still be some abandoned orders in the next few days.
