Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

the system has to be fairer...
I totally get the frustration here, but the one thing I won't say about the Rainman process is that it isn't fair. Everyone has the same information, and has the same opportunity to order. Some have to wake up early, or even in the middle of the night, but everyone knows when that is.

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

As for the comparison of Rainman and Iminime's current processes, I also appreciate what Iminime is doing, but by doing that they are actually losing some of the hype that Rainman figures have. And make no mistake, the hype and perceived rarity of figures does play a role in interest levels here. I doubt any of us are fully immune to that, though some seem to revel in owning the "special" and "rare" more than others. If Rainman opened himself up to an Iminime ordering process, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't sell as much.

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

this is completely agreed. by everyone. it is definitely fairer but not organised.

Even the checkout system. It isn't like some folks have special accounts that make them immune to being cart jacked. It's your familiarity with checking out on his site, coupled with internet speed, and how deftly you can move your fingers. Fair.

:exactly:. At least the general sales kick off time is announced! All you have to do is figure out what time 8:00pm Central time translates to in your time zone. But VIP kick off is a mystery! All we know is that it's going to be a day or two before GS. Rainamn doesn't give a specific time nor does he shoot us a text or a wake-up call. Come on guys, this is the drill! That's it and that's all! If we're serious about snagging something, it's our responsibility to be all over it with open eyes and ears.

I stayed up till 5:00am the morning of VIP kick off watching TV, screwing around on the computer and whatever else but my iPad didn't leave my side. I was constantly checking in. I set my alarm for 9:00am but overslept by around 40 minutes and got up just in time to catch the tail end of what was left. No more DX's but snagged a FS.

(and thanks again to those who shot me emails & PM's. Stupidly I had my phone on vibe so I didn't get the loud and annoying chime that would normally wake me up. Phone's on vibe is a really stupid thing to do during RM sales week! :lecture)

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

I wish I had friends on here shooting me PMs and texts when things go live. :lol

Neo Geo and Commtech both hit me up. I managed to sleep through both but still awoke soon enough to hit the order for a DX.

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

I know this doesn't apply to EVERYONE but I'm willing to bet that some if not most of us who scored something probably are content enough that we can't really remember how "stressful" or "mad" we may have been if we didn't score anything. Sort of like how my wife claims that childbirth was crazy but honestly, after the kid was born she couldn't really remember what it felt like.

I'm just saying lets cut the so called complainers some slack. If you missed out on something during all the hype you'd be pissed and *****ing too.

It just so happens a lot of RM vets have this close knit circle and by doing some shuffling and magic most of the time you all end up happy with some to give.

I'm no RM vet but I do have 7-8 RM figures already (granted, some of them are bashes and one of them was aftermarket), so I think I've dealt with the system enough times to share my opinion. Lets be honest, the ordering system totally sucks and it blows to be the ones that walk away empty handed.

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

1) so long story short, people who got the sets are extremely happy with process etc etc...
2) I am the only one who got what i wanted but still feels this is a big mess and can be made better by leaps and bounds. literally!
3) Somehow, one more thing i dont understand in the forums is blind worship. Well he is a great sculpter, but his ordering process sucks (they both have nothing to do with each other and someone needs to call it out). We can change it / twist it / crap it up whichever way we want, does not smog the truth.
4) Every time someone points out something that was not upto the mark with him we get to hear... when he nails it, he just nails it. He is the best out there, etc. My view is for 1000 dollars a figure he better nail it every time and for 1000 dollars a figure not sure why the expectation from anyone would be otherwise

5) MOST IMPORTANT: in life someone can be great at what they do, but still mess up, still not deliver upto the mark. That does not make them bad, that does not make them less great, that does not take away from their awesomeness, it almost always means one thing "that one time - they dint deliver" thats all, nothing more, nothing less. A right done wrong sometimes, is ok... a wrong called right is never ok....

i think you gentlemen have said exactly what is on my mind :)

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

Even if u did automatically which most of us did ... You would still get that message :) always... ;) u will be faster and may get that 10 times instead of 5... Does auto fill help surely, but the cart jacking is still the same...u may get lucky bucketing one, but can't avoid cart jacking.

Look at the bright side! you just save 1000 dollars and put on other up coming figure(s):clap =)

Indeed - I used to play in the 3A world and those drops were train wrecks.
