While I don't disagree that guys unlikely to buy are probably voting, his last few full figures were 30 I believe, and on top of that you've got several outfit and head sets that folks can buy. Ultimately, well more than 20 of a given figure can and will be made from a Rainman order.

His GBU Gunmen were editions of 20, his Chaplins were 20, Roman Holiday was 20, and both Mad Dog and Little Edward were editions of 25. The Dude was 30 after demand surprised Rainman, and then Gang Boy was 20 again. Eagle Eye will be an edition of 30. The Dude and Eagle Eye aren't the "last few."

You must remember that Rainman's clientele is in Korea, not just on this board. I don't believe he's ever placed more than half an edition outside Korea. So who are these people who are voting? If he wants input that will tell him what his patrons would like to see, how does a poll that includes curiosity seekers help?

And if clothing orders are determining what he makes...well, I guess it's good for the vendor who makes his clothes for him.

Oh, good God, it's up to 63 votes...absurd...

Look guys why the big who ha! :dunno

I can't very well ask people not to vote if they have no intention to buy!

For that reason I do hear what your saying in that it may not be an entirely accurate market research carry out!

Seriously do we have to have all the drama all the time :gah:

It is merely throwing three suggestions out there that Rainman would like to take on and to see what the reaction to them suggestions are!

Er, according to his site Gang Boy was 30, plus 10 DX. So, last few (Dude, Gang Boy, Eagle Eye) were 30 by my reckoning. I guess you could say Gang Boy was 40 if you want. Seems to me this is the new standard. :dunno

Rainman knows who is clientele are. If he wanted the input of the VIPs and other assorted folks who have already voted from him, he could send an e-mail, or even put up a poll on his site. Like Teddy says, he's just trying to gauge interest from folks on the board--buyers and observers alike. And Rainman can take it or leave it.

I've actually had experience with survey research, so I know good and well that this isn't the ideal situation to obtain a sample of opinions from the relevant population of buyers :lol But so what? Lighten up a little, folks.

The bigger worry from my angle would be "fake" accounts where the same guy votes more than once over guys who aren't interested in buying voting, anyway. :monkey1

Excuse me, Teddy, I seem to have taken too many wise-ass pills today. You didn't know this would happen. In the end, it's what Rainman does with the choice, not the choice itself, that matters. The choices are all good.

Actually, it had to have been 20+10. I got those numbers off my COA's :) which would mean you're right, the last three have been 30, and that does seem to be the new standard. My bad.

I think you're absolutely right.

It's just me that needs to lighten up. Sorry about my shrill, folks.

Ooooh...I'm gonna refrain from getting worked up all over again.

You might be surprised at how many folks have done that. I just hope they understand that extra accounts are a no-no and are grounds for. . .BANISHMENT! :panic:

I still think David is the best figure to make in the sense that i don't think it will ever be a licensed figure, I'd love a Marty Mcfly but i'd never risk paying $700 and then have hot toys make there own ..and ya Rainman figs are awesome but look at the recent hot toys figures, a hot toys version could easily be just as good.

Does Gibson have any issues with allowing use of his likeness on licensed figures? Mad Max seems like it could be a great Hot Toys license, given all the really interesting looking characters.

MAAAAAAAAX!!!!!!!!! Mate

Michael J Fox is 5 4". About 6" shorter than the average

I remember you guys talking about which body to use. I was going through my bodies and I notice that the Dragon figures are about 2" shorter than a Hot toys figure (just the body). I think this would be a perfect scale- after all hes short, not a little person.

And these are cheap bodies and easy to get. I have about 5 or 6 I could just give Rainman.

Not sure why so many people think Marty McFly is guaranteed a quality, licensed 1/6 treatment down the road. To pass on Rainman's, I would need to know that a release was going to be both guaranteed and quality. The character is just too important to me :exactly:

No. It's not.

I agree with that. If you guys remember in the Bill thread that Rainman asked us to come up with ideas for the special item and someone said Bill's eagle eye and Rainman liked that idea and ran with it.

Some of you guys need to take it easy and cool off! Rainman can do the guys from "******* the Movie" next if he wants and they'll still sell out! :hi5:

clearly the purpose of this thread is to gauge interest. and clearly the poll results show that there's enough interest in all 3. i didn't see anyone say the winner of this poll is the one rainman will do.

but my main point... I'D KILL FOR ******* THE MOVIE FIGURES!
someone add 1/6 wee man to the poll options.

also regarding the superfluous votes... is there any way rainman could get this poll put up on his own site? only available after login? might get rid of a few (if not all) people who won't actually buy.

and if you really want to get medieval (and ridiculous)... charge everyone a $1 to vote! :lol
