I'll be honest, and I mean no disrespect, but a lot of Rainman's work never really clicked with me. I know he has his own style, and I respect that, and I respect those who appreciate it, but, like I said, the stylized nature of some of it just wasn't for me. He's incredibly talented, but I think that, on a higher-end scale, it's kind of like how some people collect those Play Arts Kai figures, though not nearly to that extent, in that people appreciate artistry as much as accuracy, if not moreso, at times.

Every once in a while, though, something comes along that makes me go "wow," and this is one of those occassions. I liked The Shining, but I wouldn't consider myself a real fan of it, but this impresses the hell out of me, from what I've read. The work that Robbiethepainter has done on the trike, and the fact that RM is doing the twins and Danny. This seemed like it could be something really special for you guys, but seeing that sculpt cemented it. I think that, when all is said and done, this could be Rainman's defining piece. Congrats to you guys on a stellar offering! I think this is one for the books!

Hmm. Wives take - Just spoke to her for permission to buy a Dx with the twins and here is what she said:

Bay Area home rent - 2900 check
Car emis - 500 each check
Insurance, cable, groceries, California gas - check
Dog insurance and cardiac health spend - check
Baby expenses - check
Single income - check
One hot toys a month - check
One statue every 3 month - check
One custom every 2 months - check
Vinyls and engine kits hobby - check
401k check
Savings for a house (we will probably never be able to buy in California) - semi check

Rainman Dx set at 2500 - slap! and another slap!!!
In fact multiple slaps for all the toys from paste 12 months!

My wife is good about my toy habits. Getting $2500 is out of the question in one swoop haha. I might consider the H+C set for this one. I love the shining, but not enough to have the twins and Danny.

well...my wife doesn't know how much i have spent in the last few years....its a large number but for this release....i cannot honestly see it being past 2k....i remember the same type of argument happening with the DX taxi driver and everyone was pleasantly (sarcastic) surprised....i remember pretty much some of the same folk making that price higher then what it came...NOW...unless some of the RM whisperers know something...why keep making inflated prices higher and higher...? is it on the possibility that....say....someone tries to sell it and therefore quotes that inflated price later on...almost making it seem like it should be going for that??....to me, sometimes i feel people are on here giving high prices just so that they could position themselves or their "friends" in a way that will STILL allow them to make a profit when selling it to the next collector....but all of it is speculation....but it rubs me the wrong way when everyone comes in here shooting high prices and "my pocket is deep and i got it saved up and blah blah blah....pointless....let RM set the price and let it be based on what he thinks it will cost...
