This looks amazing Mike!! Masterful work amigo! :clap

I'm surprised that we haven't seen an early peak at the sculpt. Wonder if RM is holding off to avoid the comments.

Can't wait for a glimpse of it :) throwing my money at the screen but nothing's happening ha ha :)

i can't wait for the clothes....i really don't think RM can capture a crazed or derranged look....he will kill the soft neutral sculpt that has no emotion tho...thats his forte....unless he adds a little smirk....which may work for Good OL Jack....but who knows....i think the winning pieces will be the clothes....Yunsil is going to shine making that red jacket....:)

Funny that people are worried about the projects popularity or speculating on the changing nature of 1/6 figures when the thread already has over 4,000 and 171 posts w/o a single scrap WIP shown. What more should people be doing right now :huh :lol

Touche. :lol But if you look at older RM threads, there are a lot more anticipatory speculation posts and overall discussion, even before any WIP pics are shown.

I know, I'm just busting your chops a bit. And could be since there are more of these kind of figures to talk about the interest gets spread about, but for nothing shown and just the commitment to a figure being made it's still garnering quite a bit of attention :lol

And I can't imagine Rainman will have any trouble selling out of of these regardless of who is offering what. If it weren't for the Subway figure I'd be in for one, but that figure adequately scratched my itch :lol I'm sure he'll turn out a stunning headsculpt... which I might be tempted to pick up. The outfit on the Subway really is quite good, but the head is not a particularly strong likeness.

That is really my point, a lot more custom action around than there used to be. :exactly: And I agree, despite the slower thread, he will have no problem selling this piece out!

Like Levit, I'm actually more confident about the outfit and accessories than sculpt at this point. I bet the sculpt will be good, but it wouldn't shock me if it isn't a grand slam home run at this point, garnering some criticism as most of RM's sculpts seem to nowadays.

As for the interest, you are right GB in that nearly 200 posts is nothing to sneeze at, but the "Driver" had over 6,000 posts when all was said and done, many of which before anything was shown. I definitely don't feel the same level of hype over this one thus far. I think Iminime's constant improvements and still fairly reasonable (as far as customs go) prices definitely play some role here. It wouldn't surprise me if half the Rainman "diehards" here would be just as happy or happier if Denny took it on. And that's a pretty new thing.

:exactly: :lecture

At this point (pre WIP) there would usually be at least 2-3 times the amount of pages filled of everyone riding the joy/rage rollercoaster of speculation & anticipation.

I miss that :lol

I think this is fairly accurate. Iminime has shown a tremendous amount of improvement with Blondie, Dorothy, Memento Guy and others, with only a few noticeable misses with recent releases. Rainman has been great, but the PF figures were a bit underwhelming and his Driver (one of my favorite figures) doesn't quite hit the likeness out of the park. In fact, the last time he really clobbered one was with Anton over a year ago.

I am eagerly awaiting Jack and know I will buy it, but I see why the hype may be fading a bit. I too am very confident with the outfit and accessories but am a bit anxious with the sculpt - it is entirely possible that Snyder-Man's recent Jack sculpts may end up being better likenesses.

Anton is definitely one of his best but the Soldier is a smokin' figure IMO. I personally put that up there at the top with the other greats and I can't think of one Mohawk sculpt out there that's better (excluding Scott's since his isn't finished). The Driver sculpt doesn't appear as strong right out of the box but I'm positive that the right repaint would change everyone’s' mind.

Here's hoping that he brings that Bill/Plainview/Anton mojo to the sculpt and re-sparks the energy!
