Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

How many are in agreement that the NEWLINE 1:6 SCALE LEATHER RIDING BOOTS in BLACK are the most accurate for Doc?

Do you have pictures of them on the figure? If they are better than the explorer ones, I will get them! There's always room for improvement in this never ending hobby. :duh

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Put my Doc together a few days ago and took a quick cell phone picture. Ill try to get my lighting setup together in a day or two to take some pictures that actually do this piece justice.

Put the gloveless HT Sweeney Todd hands on him and they match perfectly. Now I just need to find a way to remove or paint over the rings on the right hand although they actually kinda match Doc.
I dont mind the boots too much and actually dislike the pants more than anything. The boots are slightly too big and the pants dont seem to fit too well on the narrow shoulder body I am using.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Got my very first Rainman Fullset!!!
This is one of the most expensive collectible I've purchased
so in the back of my mind, there was always this...
"you spent too much on this", etc.
But now that its here, you see why Rainman is a master of his craft. This is art.
Thank you Rainman!

Nice pic there omega! The pants look good too!

When you say, "...dont seem to fit too well...", does it mean they're loose?

For some reason, I don't think I'll be displaying Doc with the duster. This pic below made me finally decide to get a head+outfit set, and I believe the duster actually takes away the 'class' (if I may say so) from the figure. Maybe its the crumpled look, I don't know... :monkey3:

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

I think the figure looks significantly better sans duster, and so does my wife and grandma, for what that's worth :lol

On a related note, does anyone have a small tear on their black jacket on the corner of the pocket with the magnet. Mine has one there, and it's starting to bug me, but I don't want to e-mail Rainman about it if this is common.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Before I received Doc, I was already set on displaying him without the duster.
That Original pic of Rainman without the duster was how I intended to display him.
I actually first displayed him in the detolf without it.
But I thought I'd try it with the duster and he just looks too damn cool with it.
I may eventually try to display him again without it sometime,
but for now, he does look good with it.

A little black thread and needle should fix it. Maybe grandma can sew it for you.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

She probably could. . .but at the prices we are paying for this, I'm not sure that's a route I should have to go, y'know?

I understand, but the hassle of returning it and waiting for it to come back. Rainman probably doesn't have any more Jacket and will end up just having it sewn. Just figured would be quicker to do it yourself.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Still a bit of futzing to do and I need to sort him out with a cig and a decal stand, but this is how I'm displaying him, in his face off walking backward pose.

Thats the Rainman painted head right? The lips look lighter.

But I prefer the hot pink on mine?

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Looks more pinkish. Mine looks very grey.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Received my explorer boots. Any tips for painting them black? i.e. do I use normal black paint?
