I think it does work out better for those going for head and outfit, I think iminimi's paintjob is about equal to Hot Toys. Personally, I think there's only a select few that are able to go beyond HT quality. Before, customs were always better than mass produce but Hot Toys changed the ballgame.
Rainman though is one of the few that surpasses that quality and that's why his sculpts shine more cause he can really bring out another level to the sculpt. This iminimi looks excellent though.

Hmmm.... Now when you guys talk about it, I can see some major difference between these two. The non-Rainman one has a higher hemoglobin level too, his cheeks looks reddish. Maybe he's eating his vegetables and fruits I guess. Nevertheless, he looks good. But Teddy's suggestion is better, go for an unpainted one and get it painted by your choice of artist and the way you want to.

Call me crazy, but I like the one on the right better.

The important part is being happy. If you don't like it don't buy it. I think I might be picking up a clothing set and painted head sculpt and be happy with it.

The painted head and clothing set at $445, with that paintjob, is a freakin' steal. I'm glad I have zero interest in this, because that set, at that price, would be incredibly tempting.

Iminime's paint job is absolutely gorgeous! I would happily pick that up if I wasn't in for a fullset.

Cause I see it has the beaded effect also, but its much much more subtle compared to the fullset.

Yes it looks a little more subtle. I am like you and just going off that picture. As it stands right now I would guess it might come with a few beads of sweat but I really couldn't say with confidence.

Wow, if they do get the beaded effect also then its a great compromise for those who didnt get a fullset.
That Iminimi's paintjob is magnificent.
Hope Rainman starts using them from now as I cant really afford getting a fullset everytime and its a very cool alternative if one cant get a fullset.

Agreed DF does a great job, but I think iminime has them beat.

Rainman's is far superior if you ask me but that is taking nothing away from the other. Rainman is probably the best painter around imo so anything else would always struggle in my eye.

The heads are up to buy now to buy, is this normally the case?, and the outfit sets shortly?
