Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

I still think it was one of his lesser looks from the movie, from the standpoint of what would work best at showing off Rainman's strengths. I think the tailoring and detail on something like this:

This is what I hope to create my purchasing the head sculpt separately. Will be very hard to find though.......

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Yes in the end I am absolutely delighted with the final choice of costume :)

Did you not bite Mags?

Not exactly. Picked one up for a bud that's a huge Tombstone fan. So I will get to view him. But this is not my movie. So as much as I love the way the Doc figure came out he wont be gracing my shelves.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

:lol nah, I'll take it to the next level and commission a set of screen accurate clothes:lol

But seriously, how much do clothing commissions cost on average and who do I see about it?

:rotfl Then you should of bought Rainman's Clothes. But good luck with your search.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Not a lot of 1/6th scale tailors on the board doing commission work that I've seen. And the ones that take on custom jobs tend to charge a lot of money--you see what Rainman's sets cost, and that's with a large number being produced. If you've got a few thousand bucks burning a hole in your pocket, send Kato an e-mail.

Ouch. Few thousand? Think I'm gonna take it down a level....:lol

Power to the man:yess:

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Unless I was to commission a vest and tie. Arguably the hardest parts of his outfit to find. I couldn't imagine it costing too much either

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

I do agree that the clothing set I would have liked to see most is the red vest clothing set from the saloon scene. Hopefully, we may see another Doc down the line with a different outfit. I certainly wasn't going to pass up the current offering, but wouldn't mind an alternative clothing set.

would be much nicer to have on the shelf. Duster look is cool of course, but it hides a lot of the detail in the outfit, and unless you're looking closely or have the duster swung off to one side, doesn't look so different from something you could kitbash for significantly less money than this outfit will cost. For that reason, I'm thinking I'll probably display him sans duster most of the time. Would be screen inaccurate of course, but would allow me to see more of the awesome detail in that black suit and the accessories.

Was my number one choice too. :(

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

maybe when his schedule's a little lighter, and some of these major wants are out of the way (to avoid pissing the usual suspects off), we can request a V2 outfit? i'd definitely be interested in that.

the shootout scene look has definitely grown on me, but the complexity of that waistcoat outfit would look awesome on the shelf. and to me is more reminiscent of the real doc holliday.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Okay, after some net search and thinking, I wish I had gone for the Painted Head&Outfit Set. If one breaks down the price with reference to each item you're getting, $380 ain't that bad. For Bill the Butcher, I also saw velvet morning's work, but with due respect (and imho), I didn't like it.

The major issue is/was what I had budgeted for Doc; but I sure can sacrifice something else for him. We will still get HT's in 2014 but not Doc. Anyone planning to cancel their Painted Head and Outfit Set. :wink1: :)

Would be a lovely addition, and add the element of choice to the display.

What Rainman did mention to me, as well as choosing this outift as he is doing Ringo also from the 'duel', but also that the complexity of the holsters would have been far too much work to do and also replicate for all the sets.

If you can afford it, I would heartily recommend you pick up the clothing set and then a painted sculpt.

Only about $50 more and if you regret it now...you will likely regret it more when these sets start shipping.

If history has taught us anything it is that Rainman always betters the prototype by a mile with the production pieces. :lecture
