Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I'm sure they will happen eventually great film and so many mad characters to bash:)

Tommy lee and robert downey are 2 that are on my list of to do's.

If I can find or someone comissions mickey and malore, heads then the flood gates will open:)

Patonka patonka patonka:)

Talk to Scottyb. He is working with Rocco and knocked out the major cast of the Sopranos in less than a few weeks :horror

He's working on getting enough interest for Casino, Goodfellas, and Donnie Brasco at the moment, but he is looking for more ideas for more characters.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I'm absolutely dying for Mick & Mal and they're #1 on my wishlist. I know I can't bash their outfits to the quality level that I'm looking for unless Kato would agree to do it. That's why I'm praying that one of the heavy hitters will give them the full set treatment

The big problem that comes into play with them are the bodies. They show a lot of skin and have tats. Mick would need something equivalent TTM 19 or Indy body, and Mal would need something like one of those small **** Phicen bodies. Then the rubber issues come into play also

was reading up on the new phicen release and supposedly theyve found a way around the awkward/ugliness issues when bending the figures joints. something about a metal rod which is inserted beneath the skin... i dont know. but from the shots of the proto, the issue looks resolved.

Goodfellas I'd say would be a sure thing , not so much on the other 2.

I get your points pop about the bodies and outfits, it would be difficult but not impossible to get enough interest to get a run done I think.
I mean who in their right mind does'nt want this made?:)

Well I'm glad you showed up :lol. I'll tell you my story. Actually I was a bigtime lurker here for about 7-8 months before I joined and the main reason I became a member here is because I thought that they're would be enough people to group up and bring life to the NBK dream team. I've been promoting these guys like a madman in the Rainman & Iminime threads since I joined and they got very little response. I'm honestly surprised that not only are they completely untapped material, it seems like very few people even want them!! I feel like screaming HELLOOOOO has anyone ever seen this amazing little move called NBK with a killer cast written by QUENTIN TARANTINO and directed by OLIVER STONE!?!?!?! I mean this did happen on planet Earth not too long ago :slap :lol

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

also with what i've seen from Blitzway with that new Carlito's Way fig, i think theyd be perfect to do a state of Grace Penn and Oldman.
and of course a Penn as Kleinfeld. how can you do Carlito and not do his lovable lawyer....

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I'm actually a bit surprised Natural Born Killers isn't more popular around here, as well. I personally don't care for the film, but it would seem to appeal to the folks who really are into characters like Pat Bateman, Dexter, Travis Bickle, and Anton.

:exactly::exactly::exactly: My God!!

And again no offense to anyone because I watch movies like Gummo and Julien Donkey Boy, but AOD Ash can be successful with licensced products and I say Mick & Mal and hear crickets?!?!?!? IS THIS BIZARRO WORLD?!?!?!

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

yeah i agree decals are the way to go with ink. feel the same about the Pitt 'Pikey'. especially when the ink is such an integral part of the character.
recently saw someone had done some tatt decals for BrBa Jesse fig. didnt go in on that one though so ive not seen how the decal turned out but i will check now for future reference.

Not really it doesnt work in that thought... Im a big Bateman fan, becuase honestly I find him hilarious... with Dexter there is a sense of justification in his killing, Bickle - justification there too... and Anton... well little justification, but thats why people like a game like Hitman...

I think the fact that Mick and Mal are actually based loosely on real characters makes the so called fictional part along with the redeeming quality in them missing, the sense of justice has been served eludes the viewers... therefore lionizing them enough to want a figure somewhat gets on the backseat.

Personally I always hoped they'd get shot or something by the end of the film... so in a way to serve 'justice' but thats just my reasoning why these characters are not 'loved' by a larger audience as say characters like Bateman, Bickle or even Anton is...

an interesting take, personally, for me it's just that NBK is nowhere near the calibur of film as Taxi Driver, AP or No country. Nor does woody compare to Christian, Robert or Javier as an actor.

The characters arnt near as complex or compelling either in my opinion. I do think killers is a good film as well, just not on the same level as the others mentioned

I do agree with your point too... frankly NBK isnt the film Id watch multiple times... the others, I can pop them on my PC and watch it over dinner any day...

I joined to get a terminator police custom and I got one with a mullet:)

I'm bewilldered why there is not an interest thread and custom figures for NBK as it is an iconic film, just think many people did'nt get the humour.
Personally I love anything done by tarantino and stone is pretty good also.:)
NBK is a future classic once people catch on, yes it glorifies and reflects violence and the way we consume and encourage it and actually has something interesting to say, for me anyway.
That body is a good match for mal aswell;)

I do agree with your point too... frankly NBK isnt the film Id watch multiple times... the others, I can pop them on my PC and watch it over dinner any day...
Agreed it is in places, very agitating and jarring and not an easy watc,h or something you can have on in the background, it demands your attention and assaults your senses.

Kind of the point though:)

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I'm just a big fan of Tarantino and Stone and just about everything they do. You have to have a taste for f__ked up, tripped out flicks. Without getting too deep into it, Mick and Mal were the good guys in this movie. The media was the villain here and there WAS justice served at the end because they won. You need to have a darker perspective to relate to s__t like this. Even though they're the "heros" in this, you do have to be someone who can route for the "bad guys" to love them.

I feel that NBK has way more depth than No Country. Again keeping it simple, NCFOM simply tells the story of the Sherrif's fear of what he views as a changing world. There's not a whole lot of symbolism and metaphor to convey a deeper meaning but of course the cinematography and performances make this an amazing movie. NBK is a wild parody on the American Media, our country's relationship with it and our addiction to the "train wreck". All that plus a hit of acid :rock:rock:rock

There is a HUGE following for this movie but just not many are here. I think the type of fan base that this movie attracts doesn't collect figures for the most part :lol
