I've not been following the thread but this does look good!
One question, is that the final skin tone shown? That's the only part that looks odd to me. He looks a bit ill (jaundice?) but in the shots from the film he has a healthy pink/red glow to his face.
The same for the Umpa. Is that the final orange colour?

Ok little update fellas
Just speaking to Rainman and he is feeling down about the negativity regarding Wonka
He wants to get this perfect for you guys he really does!
We spoke about your concerns and Rainman will address the 'bulk' in the hair. Willy is getting a hair cut
I have also mentioned the colour of the top hat would be better if it was closer to the 141 Saddle colour patch below.
Lastly Rainman will address the coat material with his tailor. The production coat will be more accurate

It's a lovely sculpt and it's always hard to point out something that doesn't look quite right.
He almost looks like he's unpainted, which I take it he isn't due to the great paint work on the eyes.
The skin tones on all the other figures I've seen looks amazing and very lifelike.

Hi all,
If we are talking about repaints, may I suggest revisiting the sideburns and eyebrows. The sideburns should be a more dark golden brown, more brown than the current light gold. I think that is one thing that will accentuate the face more. They are kinda hidden between the light color and the color of the wig hair. As for the eyebrows, if the top inner edges are darker as well, more bushy, same color as sideburns, I think it will bring that mischievous look more to the sculpt. My artistic opinion of course. Regardless, an incredible figure, and one I could not miss. There wont be another, guaranteed.

I agree, the sculpted hair might look better. Also, the way it is with the wig, the color of the eyebrows and sideburns don't match the wig color.

Just remember, no one is better than you at what you create. Rainman, you are an amazing artist.

Everyone's a critic nowadays Rainman. Some have more tact than others, but I would not take any of it to heart. You are one of the best 1/6th scale customizers there is, and you should be proud of what you have come up with. It might be helpful to simply consider consider these comments as constructive criticism designed to help you create the best figure possible. Because it is often useful to see things from a different perspective than your own. But at the end of the day, again, they are just opinions. You are the artist, and you get to make the choices that work best for you. Keep on keeping on

Sound like some of you may have hurt his feelings. Maybe expecting too much, or think he's Hot toys instead of an Artist who has his own interpretation. I know one thing, Rainmans stuff always sells out quickly. and I'm sure these will too.

The way he told me, he was stressed about the situation and could not sleep well, he wanted to make the best figure available but many criticize his decisions. He wanted to use the best fabric available, but could not find them anywhere as well as the wig. This is also his artistic interpretation of the character, this is his creation, he is having fun.
Rainman is doing the best he can with what he has at hand.
