Rooted hair was a mistake, and Rainmans paint apps were very lifeless on this one. The Clothing however, particulary the jacket is the best I've seen from Rainman. Truth be told I'm only holding onto this because of the Oompa.

Thank God we didn't get a mushroom as the DX option.

:exactly: Last DX set to sell on the open market went for $2300 and last Fullset (No Oompa) went for $1500

Damn, that's a lot of money to shell out on a figure. I personally wouldn't shell out that much but as long as the buyer is happy and the quality of the figure is there, (which it clearly is) then all is good.

Can't say I agree I think the hair if futzed and played about with properly can look amazing. Granted sculpted hair would remove the need to do that but I think the figure would lose quite a bit of character without the rooted hair. Not sure what you mean by lifeless paint apps?

Amen on the mushroom as the DX accessory lol

The eyes, he looks spaced out and the texturing isn't there. Look at Bill or Anton. Those paints apps look like real skin.

Wonka's hair wasn't like that either. It was thin and wispy.

Everyone says the same thing in the beginning Greeny, but you'll fold eventually. It'll sink in :duff:

Well I've never crossed the $1,000 mark, and don't suspect I ever will unless it is a real, 1-off commissioned grail or something. I have paid (what I consider to be) a ridiculous amount of money for the fullset Dude, but $1,500-$2,500 for a figure is just not gonna happen for me.

What is a character you would pay $1000 dollars for, or consider? There has to be atleast one?

I personally love the idea of helping out friends who are providing an unbelievable service with quality product we will never see be made available to us otherwise. I enjoy being a part of the process, watching it take shape and finally having it in my hands. That's value to me.

I have to completely disagree also. I think the wigged hair is pretty much spot on! With the right amount of futzing it looks great imo.

That's a very good point. Even though I'm still new here, I can tell that it is going to be exciting seeing a custom figure take shape and eventually seeing the finished product. It must be very rewarding to the creator viewing the forums.

Theres a Good, Bad, Ugly set available on eBay again? I don't usually follow eBay but what are they asking?

I love the movie, probably my favorite of all rainman movie choices. Someday I will have Wonka, I may have to give up something for him, but he will be mine......

A Teen Wolf might do it, considering the engineering and distinctiveness of the character. Apart from that, I'm not sure there is anything I can think of right now. I'm not criticizing anyone who does this by the way, it's just a threshold I have a very hard time seeing myself cross. That's a new stove and putting tile down in another bathroom :lol
