Re: Rainman wants you!

It hasn't been confirmed but from my understanding Rainman likes the idea of doing it for his next project.

Rainman wants you!

Re: Rainman wants you!

This Exorcist project keeps sounding more and more to me like a statue rather than articulated figure, of course nothing's been announced or shown but I'm having a hard time seeing her as a fully articulated 1/6 figure.

Why does it seem statuesque? Ok, she was laid up in bed for the final third of the film, but it's not like she was completely static or immobile:

Re: Rainman wants you!

Same, would give me the creeps just displaying it!

I know it's just a 1/6 piece but it brings bad vibes. Not wanted.

Re: Rainman wants you!

The exorcist isn't a horror film according to William Friedkin. He's says it's a film about the power of faith. We see father Karras struggle with his faith, then rediscovers it through the ultimate test of faith......sacrifice.

Exorcist is a very important film. It fits perfectly within Rainmans catalog.
I think it's going to be amazing. I'm betting he's gonna do somthing really innovative.

It's not for everyone and that's ok. I don't collect Marvel Figures or characters like Hook, not that there's anything wrong with them, but I'm a grown man....those kinds of characters give off a kids vibe. I prefer more mature subject matter.

I want people to be shocked when they see this piece displayed with my collection. It will instantly remind them of the feeling they had when they first experienced watching the film.....and that is pure nostalgia. That is the ethos of 1/6.

That's because you need to believe in order to fly! Turbo let go your hate and embrace love and use your imagination to FLY, FLY FLY!!! Only then will you understand Mr. Pan. Linda Blair scares us [emoji238][emoji216][emoji236]

Re: Rainman wants you!

Alex DeLarge: delinquent, anarchist, thief, rapist, murderer.

Patrick Bateman: axe wielding, serial killer, fantasist, with s##t taste in music and smoooooooth skin.

Freddy Krueger: **** child killer with Mother Theresa's mug, son of a thousand b######s, brought back to life by a dog taking a slash on his bones

Hannibal Lecter: serial killer, cannibal, mind mangler

Bill the Butcher: vicious, murdering, psychopathic copy and paste job of characters Martin Scorsese has done much better before

Regan: innocent girl possessed by a demon, endures and overcomes a demonic onslaught.

How's she the one that would be in bad taste again?

Fly, Fly, Fly?.....:lol No thanks man.
Of all the films to choose a Dustin Hoffman character off of......Hook? C'mon. When was the last time you actually sat down to watch that film.

this movie is scarry, but what makes this movie terrifying is the human eliment. A father Karris figure performing the rites of exorcism, over the terrofing demon - i think would really tie the room together.

To be honest I think Tootsie would be very interesting to see.

I mentioned Tootsie a while back. As you say, interesting option to do such a well known actor with an accompanying 'female' version of him. Great film too. Dumps on Mrs Doubtfire from a great height.

Failing that:18866903.jpg

Little Big Man, please.

Re: Rainman wants you!

I watched Exorcist last year for the first time ever in my life...it was a good film with a slow but necessary build up, and the last third of the film was pure awesomeness. Scariest movie all time? hmmm not in 2014 and not on my 27" monitor but for sure i would have crapped my pants if I watched it in theatres. I'm glad rainman is diving into something totally different, can wait to see him make a 1/6 bed! Not for me but I will definitely keep my eye on the project.

You make a good point, except that the figure would presumably be possessed Regan, thus representing an immoral, satanic demon, and not the innocent child who was possessed. That's the only reason there is interest in her at all. Looks like there are more nay than yay votes for her, though, which surprises me. I didn't think so many collectors would be weirded out by something associated with the devil. But then, I'm a Satan worshipper, so I'm probably biased.

Love the "adult" collector mindset. What about dudes who pay like 4K for Stuart Little, they must be really childish too
