Wow great ideas turbo! Much better than magnets. I fully support the Magicians Plank.

Side note...I've seen this in person...how in the H does he do this? :dunno

I have seen that live… It truly defies all logic to me. The place I saw him do that in had all exposed ceilings, so obviously no cranes and what not could be seen. I also prefer not to know how haha.

Nightgown
In the film Reagan wears 1 pajama set and 3 different night gowns. The Blue nightgown with the frill (Levitation scene) is the Classic clothing and should be used in my opinion.

The blue night gown is the most recognizable to me. I hope Rainman goes with Regan at her most demonic for the HS. Also I think the bloody cross is gross, but it is a memorable scene from the film and would make a good accessory for this IMO.

I also have the approximate measurements for the bed in 1/6 if you guys want them...I use to have the photoshop template for the final scene but I think yunsil will somehow slam this out the park...

My current Ebay feedback is at 666...
Am I I trouble? [emoji33]

Nah, you're good bro. :wink1:

:lol

Mike, this is essentially the first real big problem I ran when I tried my hand at putting this custom run together a few years ago....the body. Yes I did try the obitsu bodies but they will not work with this figure or this project....I was going to have to get the arms and legs sculpted just to be able to have visible scars because the body was just too flimsy and would fall apart too easily....I even tried to shorten and take off the ****s from a kumik body but in the end...just had too much hips....

here are some of the ideas I was going to do with the headsculpt....I was going to have three different head sculpts with different facial expressions and each of the heads would have had a magnet to be able to pull the hair wig and be able to exchange between the other expression headsculpts....I really had the science down for this project but just couldn't pull the trigger to set it all in motion...good luck to the guys getting this if and when it happens...:-/

Yea, the Obitsu bods are that fragile? I never handled one but I figured if they were in the same realm as the ones we got with Iminime's Kill Bill girls say, that would be more than sufficient. I'm looking into them a little more to decide if a 23 or 25 would be better, and I'm going to scoop one up off The Bay to see what's up

Well I don't think people want a statue either. This has to be articulated.

Absolutely. If the bodies available are sufficient then making solid sculpts like The Twins with very little and very unnatural articulation is pointless. Check out the pics of The Twins on his site. The one and only pic displaying articulation shows one of them with her stiff arm extended forward. That's basically the most that will be able to be achieved with an elastic string (I believe that's the way he achieved that). I don't even think the arms could extend laterally. There's no way to get any decent articulation without pivots in the torso & hips, full rotation at the shoulders and swivel below the shoulders, at least a single jointed elbow and full articulation at the wrist; of course all the same for the legs.

Making this like Danny or The Twins focuses on a few small details that aren't worth the sacrifice of losing full articulation. Making this completely perfect both visually and in functionality is impossible unless he makes a fully articulated custom body, and I don't see that happening. But painting and adding cuts to a suitable articulated body would be the lesser of all evils that yields the greatest overall results. I'm sure to give the cuts texture, he could heat up a pointy metal tool and use it to superficially gouge the body. A little paint on top of that and I bet it would look proper. The arms are fully covered to the wrist and the night gown is plenty acceptable past the knee (even if that's not 100% accurate)

Those pictures are vile how can you guys be entertained by a tortured 12 year old girl!! You guys need some Pan and Hook in your detolf, this is evil spirits consuming your mortal SOULS!!!!

I also wanted to add that we are debating over something that has an easy easy......easy solution to achieving a maximum pose reagan.

First of all, it makes no sense to ask Rainman to sacrifice sculpting arms and legs in favor of an Obitsu body when all you have to do is buy an Obitsu body and just do a headsculpt swap if you want to have at all those extreme poses. If you want someone to paint wounds on the body there are alternatives for that as well that don't require Rainman to give up displaying his detailed sculpting ability for the sake of having an overly animated articulated character that won't be in continuity with the rest of the sculpture and as a result not asthetically pleasing. Your also asking Rainman to modify his sculpt to fit that Obitsu neck. C'mon

Gonna have to bump this again.....

The thing is how can anyone promote the use of a 1/6 body that they don't have any experience with in the firstplace? It's a CHEAP body! The neck plug is no good, the hips are no good, the chest and the articulation and ability to hold poses are no good. People hated it when it was used for the Kill Bill figures if I'm not mistaken. There was tons of trouble about the headsculpt being secured and sitting properly and all kinds of rhetoric about using like a clay filler to help hold the neck in place etc.

I'm pretty sure if Rainman decided on this challenge he knows somthing about how to consider working out the articulation. The twins articulation is what probably inspired Rainman to try somthing a little bit different but with the same approach to having sculpted legs and arms that look anatomically and asthetically correct to Reagans body type.

I don't see any value in just having a sculpt thrown onto a cheap Obitsu body that is never a go to resource for 1/6 characters.
But if anyone should choose to try the Obitsu theory by all means go a buy one seperate from this project and have at it. I want to pay for somthing that Rainman is truly going to be hands on with when it comes to sculpting.

Guys - I don't mean to open up a can of worms and I am all for everyone shld get what they want etc. but just for my knowledge is there anyone who usually convinces or guides rainman for doing some figures over others. Just curious as the more I see the thread and pictures - don't mind me but...

A great movie but it would be a very painful figure to own.

again, i know everyone has different tastes but are there really many takers for this figure? . It really is a poor girl (in fiction) that went through hell, was miserable and possessed. May be I am very religious, may be I am not but... Such figures just worry me.

These forums are about airing your views and I don't mean any offense to anyone. I am just thinking aloud as rainman has only so much "time / bandwidth" is this really a "sought after figure" :(

To put it the way I see it - it is definitely sought after by some, but not all. which in case makes it a niche, limited release, original figure - which means it is worthy of his time. So although not all of us would spend top dollar for her, there is a massive following of the exorcist and the value of a figure like this could expand past the 1/6 market into high high end horror collectors hands.

If you have time, catch up on the thread and you'll see that this is something Rainman is really interested in doing.

And we already discussed the possibilities of inviting the devil in our home by owning this. Most of us are confident that everything will be a-ok

We'll see what the end result of the piece is and then we'll see what everyone thinks. I think the initial reaction for some was a firm no, but I have a feeling that at least a few minds will change depending on the final outcome

It's considered the greatest horror movie ever made. It was nominated for the most oscars that season year, it is highly revered by the likes of guys like Stanly Kubrick himself, had a major cultural impact on the art of cinema....and Rainman chose it himself. Done.

I do hope those voices convince him of Karras though. Not sure itll happen but one can only hope the powerful story of good and evil is portrayed in this release.
