Seeing the soap now, I'm not sure how anyone could think cutting it out of the set will allow for the glasses to be substituted.

Uh, because we were discussing production costs and sacrifices to maintain a bottom line. Surely you think the soap cost something to produce, right? Equal to or more than the sunglasses would cost I'd wager. But it looks great & the box is a nice touch.

Very interesting info about the middle finger.
Can't wait to see how the clothing bits are coming along. :D

He poured soap into a mold and let it set. Fiscally, he was only set back on the cost of making the mold and buying soap. Completely an in-house, relatively simple and easy job. Going off of Zuno shedding light on how Rainman was worried about the glasses upping the cost beyond what his customers were used too, and how this soap is included in every set he plans to sell, it looks like the cost of the shades is quite a bit more than the soap - he didn't think twice about giving everyone soap.

Complex metal work that needs to be sourced out is much pricier than buying soap you yourself can pour into a mold.

And he can't make the sunglasses at this time due to technical matters.
He is discussing with a metal handicraftsman.
So he is considering the second version of Fighter 1999.
Then, He would make it.

Thanks,

Bumping this up.

Technical matters, metal handicraftsman - Sounds like what Rainman is trying to accomplish with the glasses is far beyond the stark shades the Hot Toys Mens Suit came with. I'd hazard a guess and say real working hinges. If clothes pins can be made in 1/6th...

Depends upon construction.

If you are envisioning solid metal, working folding arms, nose rests, separate cast lenses, etc. then yes. If we're talking a single piece of cut thin metal ala Hot Toys Tony Stark's or George Lucas's glasses with thin plastic "lenses", then no, they should not be that expensive.

yeah sure shades.. in less than a week he will be up for preorder I want to see the outfit

Here is the first sneak preview of the clothing... :banana
I'll post more soon!

p.s.
As I have mentioned, no shades at this time... Sorry... :monkey2

Thanks,

Overall looks good. The head looks great on the torso and I like the cut of the jacket.
Though I wish the buttons on his coat were red and not black.

And I'm not sure how I feel about the shirt pattern. It's Tyler-ish I suppose.

Is the cigarette removable?

I Like the head sculpt better from what I can see. Loving the jacket and the rings. Amazing! As mentioned, nt so sure about that shirt, did he wear something like that?

2009 2 5 does that mean this is delayed until Feb 02?

Hah i always thought Benecio looked like a beat up brad pit so i guess that's appropriate for a Fight Club Brad Pitt!
