[Fighter1999 News]

Here is the first sneak preview of the clothing... :banana
I'll post more soon!

p.s.
As I have mentioned, no shades at this time... Sorry... :monkey2

Thanks,

the shirt is wrong...

rainman went for the tyler meets marla look because he's wearing rings and loafers

normal_mfi061a.jpg

if he was going for the "punch me" penguin shirt look then he should be wearing boots and blue track pants.... and no rings.

that shirt doesn't really resemble any shirt he wore in the movie...

the jacket on the other pant looks great

Jacket and shoes yes, but the shirt and pants aren't from the Marla date scene. Clothing seems like a bit of a mishmash.

They look like these warm up pants.

Ok, just watched through Fight Club again...

Sadly, Tyler does not appear to wear either this shirt or these pants in any scene. :(

The pants pictured above, which are the first to show up on a google search, are only identified as "worn during rehearsals" and are differnet than the track pants he wears during the 1st fight & porch recruiting scenes.

I'm not sure but I guess the shirt patterning is difficult to achieve, for a small scale customizer?

Btw, Zuno is that the final head sculpt? Is the rainman adding any more final touches on the hair? Could use a bit of highlights.

The more I look at the sculpt, the more 'james dean' and 'del toro' I see there, I hope rainman could retouch and add some repaint on the face to bring in tyler's character!

No doubt Tyler's shirts are difficult prints to replicate. Unfortunate about the inaccurate pants as well.

Odd choices not to go accurate to any scene and instead a more generic Durden. Looking forward to more pictures of this shirt.

Since you're a veteran in this area, does rainman usually respond and change (clothes etc, if members points out inaccuracy) or are we stuck with these pants and shirt?

I mean, for 1/6 scale and something as exclusive as this I wouldve hoped that we can expect movie accurate costume etc.

I remember he added the accurate stripes onto the Man with no name shirt when people started pointing it out.

green track pants with black stripes!

as for the shirt if its too difficult to do the marla scene version it should be easy to do the penguin print.....

but if he does that one it means he has to do navy blue track pants with red and white stripes.... also he will have to do boots instead of those loafers

I don't think they are green or track pants in the Marla scene. I think they're woolen/cotton grey dress trousers w/ a dark grey/navy blue stripe, rear pockets & belt loops.

The track pants from the 1st fight and porch scenes are dark blue nylon with white and red stripes and zippers on the cuff.

Most likely this is what will be offered and no changes made this late in the game. But who knows? Not sure if he fixed Blondie's shirt because it was pointed out or if the first solid blue shirt was a place holder until he sourced the proper striped material.

Obviously to get the exact shirt pattern, custom fabric would need to be designed and printed as Blindvoyeur printed his unique Deckard shirt fabric.

These shirts and pants are close and in the style Tyler would wear but not screen accurate or anything he wore on camera. And while this is a very, very impressive figure, as the price of collectibles goes up, so do the expectations of accuracy. Between the shirt & pants, lack of sunglasses and eye paint (I think that's what is throwing the likeness off), I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed.

Well, I've been waiting to see more pics and this confirms my feelings... I'm not really seeing Brad Pitt there.
The nose looks wrong to me and the sculpt in general looks a bit soft.
I'm getting a bit of a Medicom type of sculpt vibe with this one.

So I'm going to pass.

The track pants from the 1st fight and porch scenes are dark blue nylon with white and red stripes.
[trying to find the pic of these I had]

but theres a production shot of tyler walking with marla and hes wearing the green track pants with blue stripes. the shirt hes wearing is identical to the one he wore during that scene..

I think it's the lighting that makes it look like hes wearing grey ones.... you must have based your opinion on this...

as for the 1st fight porch scene .. i agree and even said that. all you did was reword the navy blue to dark blue...

tyler_costume_1.jpg

problem with this is that rainman will have to scrap the shoes he made already and replace it with boots. you got the movie on bluray.. you should know.

you know i really dont have a problem with waiting another month for rainman to actually do this figure right... it seems like he's really rushing and so far the end results is really on the disapointing side.

zuno if you are reading this can you try to convince rainman to put more time into this project? I might be speaking for myself here but this isn't even close to the amazing figures he produce the last 4 times.

oh yeah entrophy for once ill admit your right upon futher examination... it seems that i am the one who was fooled by lighting.. those pants you posted are identical to the pic i have up sorry i doubted you.

You are mistaken. Those pants aren't green or nylon track pants. That production shot is of the same screen used pants I posted. And you call me names while admitting you're wrong?

And he wouldn't have to scrape the shoes. Just move them over to Final Battle Tyler V.2. :D

read edited post before your reply. :D

sounds good to me just hope zuno tells him how most of us feel about the rushed efforts and he decides to fix these issues...

p.s. the tear ducts on the head paint can use a little makeover. it looks like pitt is wearing pink eyeshadow

And you call me names while admitting you're wrong?
what? call you names...

I am all for waiting on this in regards to perfections being made. the state its in now makes me weary of buying at all, the fixes done and I'd be all over it, accurate clothes is a must really. glasses im second to, I'd like them but if the clothes are inaccurate thats a big issue for me.

I wonder how the string connection from the head to the chest piece will work out - what degree of articulation are we going to be getting? Can he look down? Can he look up? Or just sideways?

In the pics Zuno posted, it looks like Tyler's back is leaning down/in, instead of the head sculpt.
