He's startin to look his age too.
Maybe it's just me, but for $650.00, I'd expect more. I don't care that there are only 15, 20 or whatever number is made. The sculpt and paint are subpar for a Hot Toys release that would be $150.00.
Good news from Rainman.
Now, he is modifying the head sculpt for more likeness.
... hair, eyes, lips, and etc...
he said to me, "You will love it."...
I'm really looking forward to see it soon.
It is not for the 2nd version. It is for the head sculpt which you just preordered.
I'll post it soon.
Thanks,
I think the 15/20 is what really worked to our favor. I'm happy for us so to speak because just a couple months back we were polling and posting our Rainman requests and Tyler Durdan was at the top or near of almost everyone's lists.
Fight Club is interesting to me on a whole new level, I watched it the other night and saw it through a whole new set of eyes. Being 10 years old now, I could really see the 90's-isms in it. It didn't seem so revolutionary to me this time around because of the precedent it set for this type of moves. You could really get the sense of the post Generation X pre millennial pre Iraq war, pre 911, pre recession time period it was made in.
A time where there were a lot less things to worry about it seemed more of a priority to combat the monotony of every day life by filing it up with a slew of material possessions. Although apparently the problems of today does not stop us from dropping this kind of money on something like this.
One of the reasons why I wanted a fight club figure so badly is because of the ultimate irony of it all, any merchandise from fight club automatically becomes ironic because of the film's message. It really puts the icing on the cake that it comes with the big pink bar of soap, except I always hoped Tyler would have a big cheesy grin on his face, almost as if he's in on the joke so to speak. Though I like that rainman picked the neutral look. Could have went with a beat up head though I reckon, may have like that just a tad bit more.
So in actuality, it seems only appropriate to spend near 700 dollars on a fight club figure to further reinforce the irony. Only, the uselessness is debatable, because at least with Rainman we have a true piece of art, and art is something I personally believe is a necessity and not a luxury.
I know the next set is going up at 1pm on tuesday but does anyone know what time that is in the uk.
