Interesting interview with Stallone in Variety a few days ago about how angry he is he doesn't have any controlling ownership in the Rocky franchise (despite earning tens of millions.) Had no idea how bad - and long - his 90's/early 2000s career slump was (fired from his agents etc.)

He sold it to the studio and part of the deal was he would play the role. He got the money and the starring role, so the studio owes him nothing. No one forced Sly to sell it.

His career slump was probably around 8 or 9 years, from 1997 (Cop Land)/ 1998 (ANTS) until 2006 when he did Rocky 6. However, he was in a Spy Kids movie and also had a tv show during that time, but yeah he was done. So was Arnold, but he got into politics, so that was a good excuse to not make movies. :lol

Those were AWESOME! Love 3 and 4 haha.

Bravo on Lionsgate and Sly having fun with this release.

I see the time stamps on the videos are the release dates for each movie, good attention to detail.

Rambo 5 is 89 minutes long.

Nothing wrong with that. Modern filmmakers can't seem to tell stories effectively anymore. This whole every-modern-movie-must-run-two-and-a-half-hours wouldn't fly in the 80's and it was probably one of the best decade for movies for it.

Stallones Cobra was 87 minutes, Commando was 90 minutes long and the latter at least is one of the greatest films in the history of the world.

Rambo would have been the perfect character for a network format tv show a la the Incredible Hulk. Every week Rambo is in a new town meting new people, getting into trouble, helping them with their local problems using his muscles and knife, and moving on because he's wanted by a crazy small town sheriff who can't accept his defeat from the film canon. Also Trautman shows up at the end of every episode to deliver one liners to remind people of Rambo's badassness, after all the mayhem has gone down and Rambo has moved on to another town. I'm amazed this show never happened, starring Michael Biehn. :chase

I imagine it crossed some minds, but in a way that’s almost the A-Team, so maybe it never took off because of that. We got a Rambo cartoon, can’t say that about Terminator.

Shockingly spoilery, maybe, who knows which edits make the final cut.

I’m not concerned though, I don’t watch Rambo for surprises, and so far that’s all marketing has shown, out of 90 mins they keep showing mostly the same moments and just add some more footage from the same.

I can’t wait to hear the score.

For a so called red band trailer I saw zero gore there just quick edits definitely a step down from the carnage in 4 I hope that?s not all of it lol
