Would also be nice if the arrows included the neon blue glowsticks from the cave scene.

I had that thought when I first saw the pictures myself, that would be a cool feature, nice to see the bow is different though and will hold arrows on it like in the film.

"And this, what's this?" "It's a blue light." "What does it do?" "Turns blue."

When I was looking for gear for my custom Rambo III I found some 1:6 glowsticks that were actually made by Hot Toys for one of their Halo's but they only made them in green and red. Might be able to paint them but I was thinking about getting a REAL glowstick and trying to pour the liquid in them but I'm not sure how toxic that stuff is.

I think it looks great, I can't wait to get it and round off my Rambo figure collection, though I wish he had the grenade launcher from the end of the film.

Yeah, I was hoping for that gun combo too. Do any of the Military figure manufacturers (DiD, Dragon, etc.) make something similar?

Also, I wish they would include the necklace Rambo got from the Vietnamese woman in part 2. Didn't he wear it for much of the film?

Well, I am so glad I didn't blow 150+ on Rambo II. I can live with this one as a "replacement" to go with my First Blood figure. Plus, I hear that Hot Toys has perfected the plastic muscle suit since Rambo 2, so no need to worry about ripping/tearing.

There are some AK-47/Grenade Launcher combos from Dragon but they are not exact. For one, the stock is different and the ammo clip is longer and more curved. It almost looks like an AK-103 with GP30 mounted grenade launcher or some other model Russian rifle.

If there's a Rambo III fig does he come with any of his Taliban friends?

I hate to sound rude, but statements like that come off so ignorant. You do realize that not everyone is Afghanistan is a Taliban terrorist correct? Hell, you do realize that during this time period, we were actively funding the freedom fighters in Afghanistan in their fight with the Russians, correct? I hate it when people lump a group of people into a category, just because it makes it easier to understand.

Hell, I can see how the oppression by the Russians led to many of the conflicts we have with the Afghanistan people today. Our government had no problem with "guerrilla" warfare back then. Well, that's some of the same tactics they are using against us now ... except we lump it under terrorism. Most of these groups are not sending 12 year-olds strapped with C4 into large urban areas ... that's the Iraqi radicals.

Is this the one you were talking about Dave?

Also found this one ... I think it looks pretty close:

Neither of those have the film-accurate wire-frame stock and the DID one has the wrong stock and launcher.

LOL ... let me rephrase - looks pretty good for a stand-in? In your opinion, is that as close as I am going to get?

Probably close but you might have to do a hybrid mod to get the right stock from an AK-103.

I know nothing about these weapons LOL. What if I took that launcher and attached it to the extra AK-47 I have from the Goldeneye Alec 006?

That falls under the pattern I posted earlier, scene specific figures, since this is mainly a Rambo in the caves figure, he had already given away his Buddha necklace.

I wasn't being ignorant--- it's been a long time since I've seen Rambo III and from my foggy memory the Afghanistan group that he was helping versus the Soviets were identified as those freedom fighters who went on to establish rule (and eventual extreme religious idealism robbing the majority of Afghanistans of their freedoms) in Afghanistan once the Soviets pulled out--- hence the ruling Taliban. Sorry if you misunderstood.

And just for clarification--- we does not include me. If you look carefully you'll see that I'm not an American citizen-- I'm from the country where Lester B. Pearson is from (I won't go into his major accomplishment --I'll let you look that one up if you care to). I'm fully aware of the US involvement in helping to fund liberation fighters in Afghanistan (of which I believe Osama Bin Laden was one). But let's not turn this thread into a geopolitical debate. I merely made the statement as there are George W. and Osama "figures" out there (check the gallery and you'll see SLADE'S LOVE PALACE FOR ACTION FIGURES has them placed rather prominently)--- I was merely wondering if this Rambo will have accompanying figures that today might have a different meaning than they did back in 1988.

You didn't sound rude at all--- you merely assumed. That can be dangerous.

That is correct. He gave it to the Mahajadeen kid just before the game.

Yeah, I know ... I was just wishing/hoping. Do people still sell the parts from the part 2 on Ebay? Anyone seen what the necklace goes for?

I am also assuming that the entire chest of the III Rambo would be a skin suit so we can display him shirt off like in some of the scenes.

Hmm ... how hard would it be to customize those fighting sticks (have no idea what they are called)? The hand wraps should be rather easy with some dirtied up fabric and scale rope/string.

For the hands, I just used the Rocky taped hands, drilled some holes for the sticks which were wood I got from a hobby store, painted black with silver tape.
