I wasn't being ignorant--- it's been a long time since I've seen Rambo III and from my foggy memory the Afghanistan group that he was helping versus the Soviets were identified as those freedom fighters who went on to establish rule (and eventual extreme religious idealism robbing the majority of Afghanistans of their freedoms) in Afghanistan once the Soviets pulled out--- hence the ruling Taliban. Sorry if you misunderstood.

And just for clarification--- we does not include me. If you look carefully you'll see that I'm not an American citizen-- I'm from the country where Lester B. Pearson is from (I won't go into his major accomplishment --I'll let you look that one up if you care to). I'm fully aware of the US involvement in helping to fund liberation fighters in Afghanistan (of which I believe Osama Bin Laden was one). But let's not turn this thread into a geopolitical debate. I merely made the statement as there are George W. and Osama "figures" out there (check the gallery and you'll see SLADE'S LOVE PALACE FOR ACTION FIGURES has them placed rather prominently)--- I was merely wondering if this Rambo will have accompanying figures that today might have a different meaning than they did back in 1988.

You didn't sound rude at all--- you merely assumed. That can be dangerous.

At not point did I mean to lump you in with we. The avatar and Canada location are pretty visible in your posts. If it came out that way, I apologize. I would have said "our" government if I wanted to lump you in.

In all honesty, you said that to sound sarcastic/ smarmy. And, I just didn't like the tone. I will respect your request and not turn it into a politics debate. I just hate sarcastic comments that stereotype all Afghanis and all Arabs as terrorists. They aren't. It's just the most prominent/radical in a group tend to stick out so they get all the attention.

I didn't say that to sound sarcastic/smarmy... I just thought you were assuming again and I wanted to clarify. In terms of your dislike of comments that stereotype a certain group then guess what? We're on the same page. My ten month old daughter's godfather is an Arab--- and one of my closest friends. I'm not saying this to sound a certain way--- I'm just letting you know that prior to jumping to conclusions about something (or someone) next time feel free to ask for a clarification. If I was an ignorant jerk you'd know by my response and you could deservedly let me have it. If my response shows you something else--- well then all the better. Sound fair?

The face looks bad. I like RamboII figure a lot more. seems like almost the same package though, just a little minor tweaks.

Wow, really? From this pic, he looks to have the best likeness of any of them I've seen.

I agree. This one actually looks the most like Stallone to me. Will definitely be ordering one of these.

Very cool.

I do hope he comes with more than 1 arrow in the quiver ... I mean, what's the point in having a quiver for 1 arrow?

Oh ... and I just thought up my first custom attempt with this new figure:

But ... hmm ... where to get a replica of the chicken?

:rotfl

Look closely at the bow. The other arrows are attached to it.

That's a HUGE improvement over Rambo II or First Blood headsculpts. I'm gonna get another and swap gear with Rambo II and use that body and sculpt.

Ya, I'd say the age old rule applies, third time's a charm.

This just looks like they shrank Stallone.

The only "small" complaint is that the body isn't as Buff as Stallone was in the 3rd film. It's ironic too. They seem to have used the same style of muscle body for each figure - so First Blood looks a little too buff, Part II is decent, and Part III is slightly undersized.

However, unlike the actual movies, Part III is superior to Part II in every way - better sculpt, better items, better bow, and better gun (something different). Sell your extra part IIs while you can still rack in the cash. I forsee that figure dropping in value if people can get this one for half the price.

Part II's will be hot for those doing conversions. Now that I think about it, glad I got an extra. Maybe I'll hold onto it after all.

I wish the body varied, but much like all of the 1/6 makers, you have to recycle to some extent, it'd be to costly to do bodies and all for individual figures.

I think most people looking to do conversions will already own the Part II. I am pretty sure that Hot Toys will manufacture a lot more of these than Part II. That will make them easier to come by. And, if a normal collector can get this one in the 65 to 85 range, why would they pay 130 to 150 for the part 2? Same thing would happen with Sideshow's Part 3 Jason. If they made another with more articulation and a slight difference ... but it had the same size (body size) and looked similar, people wouldn't pay the 80 to 120 it goes for right now.

Seeing this figure now has me pumped about seeing more photos, maybe seeing some vids and finding out more details about Rambo 4. Rocky and Rambo were my adult movies as a child, I actually used to want to play Rambo 3 with my neighboor and do the fighting sticks scene, luckily I didn't that would have probably ended in the emergency room. This figure looks great, not only am I psyched to cap off the trio, but this looks to be the best of the bunch too, even the quality of the hair looks better done than the first 2 figures.

Outstanding!!

:rock :rock :rock

I agree...that sculpt is amazing...best one yet but I don't think the others are that bad either...better than a lot of SS sculpts and the outfits are outstanding as well!!

cheers,

Brad

Hot Toys is really bringin' it as of lately. This one is no exception. IMO they're pulling ahead of Medicom and SSC in terms of quality, quantity and value. I think my HT collection is gonna surpass my SSC collection this year.

I hope it stays in the same price range as FB Rambo.
