I agree. We have seen the rise and fall of Sideshow Collectibles. Hot Toys is THE 1:6 producer.

I like these figures, but I'm still scared of the rubber bodies breaking down a few years from now, hopefully they won't. HT makes good stuff, but like Medicom, their face paint apps are still toy-like compared to most of SSC's latest releases. One thing I think favoring this Rambo of the past 2 is looking at the face more, it almost seems dirty, battle worn looking, instead of perfectly clean like the others, that and the girly eyelashes on the other 2 kinda killed the manly look a little bit, that was the only thing that really bothered me with those 2 figures.

Hot Toys is definitely the 1:6 designers of late ... that cannot be contended. However, as long as they rely upon Sideshow for their distribution, they will still be beneath them. I mean look on the boards and in auctions and etc. These are listed as Sideshow Toys items on many sites, just because SSC distributes them. I really believe the PoTC: At World's End license could be the start of something big if they can pull those figures off well.

Seeing as how SS abandoned all 1:6 licenses except for $tar War$ they have nothing I am interested in buying. Hot Toys satisfies all my collecting needs now.

Hot Toys is really bringin' it as of lately. This one is no exception. IMO they're pulling ahead of Medicom and SSC in terms of quality, quantity and value. I think my HT collection is gonna surpass my SSC collection this year.

I hope it stays in the same price range as FB Rambo.

If the rest of the sculpts and paints could be as good as Rambo 3, HT would be untouchable in the movie character line. Heck, they already are the shiznits of the 1/6th military.

As said before, SS and HT just need to join up. SS head sculpts and paint on HT body and accessories.

That is something every toy line will have to face. Old Joe's become brittle and crack, accessories melt, He-Man figures discolor ect. The plastic will break down sometime.

I am quickly leaning this way. I have skiped on many of the latest 1:6 SW, and LOtR is so slow. I am buying A LOT of HTs lately and have more HTs figures on pre-order than I do SS.

Nothing can compare to HT in 1:6 right now!!

HT sells SS stuff over there.

I'm ok with some of those things, but if the rubber on these things cracks and crumbles into a mess, it'll all be lost, at least discoloration still leaves you with roughly what you started with. It'll deffinately be a worthwhile ride while it lasts though, Rambo figures would suck without the HT muscular body. Maybe someone who owns other HT figures would know this, do the necks have the limited range of motion that the Rambos do, or is that related to the muscular body figures only.

And that is sad for me to agree with (though I still on their SW and Horror line) as 95% of my collection is 1/6 Sideshow. And I have ZERO interest in PFs, statues, busts, comicettesssswhateverthosesthingsare.

Muscle body only.

Ya, I'd say the age old rule applies, third time's a charm.

This just looks like they shrank Stallone.

Agreed! The likeness on this figure is uncanny! I have the part II and the First Blood, but this will be a must own in the Sly Action Collection! Hot Toys continues to impress me with their 1/6 Grand Slams. This is a figure that I could pop out of the box and display without concerning myself to customizing it to look accurate. The only Hot Toys figure that I own and did an overhaul on has been the First Blood Rambo and that was only because I love the look of him wearing the poncho. I cannot say the same for many of my SS figures.

Another home run from Hot Toys then!I bought "first blood" John a couple of weeks ago and he arrived yesterday, then i tune in and find this.It s wonderful.Hot Toys are taking a few risks and everyones coming off for them God bless them.
I wonder if they ll look into "The "Bourne Ultimatum",i d love a figure of Matt Damon as Bourne.

i WILL be getting two of these. i've been wanting to get the part 2 version but didn't want to pay the price tag for him. this one looks better and will be cheaper. YAY!!! and IMO SS is still better than hot toys... the competition is getting much better, but price wise they can't compete with SS.

SS should stick to PFs, Maquettes, dioramas, and comiquettes and let HT/Medi do figures

I'll be getting this one fo' sho'.

First Blood Rambo arrived with me last week and I love it. I'm currently waiting on a bedroll and an 'army Jacket' as well as making a poncho.

Man, these films are awesome.

Funnily enough I was only watching Rambo III the other week and chuckling at the dedication to 'our brave afghan brothers...'. Probably not played that much on White House TV.

my brother said they weren't allowed to watch Rambo III while he was serving in afganistan---something about how they might be offended or whatever.
