I don't know why the Rambo and Rocky lines seem to have a full likeness blessing where Aliens and the Terminator line don't, but I'm sure glad they do, I can't imagine Rambo not looking exactly like Stallone.

Well there Terminator figures are a couple years old now. Reese looks close, the T800 was obviously done to avoid license from Arnold.

I really hope this figure is coming soon, it looks so awesome I don't want to wait long to get a hold of it.

Honestly, I think this might rival the HT Endo and Medicom's Jango Fett for 1/6 Figure of The Year.

I have no idea why some people have gripes with that head sculpt.

Bold statement. Very bold. The head sculpt is perfect, though.

You must be smoking crack. You cannot even compare this to the Endo which hands down owns the 1:6 Figure of the Year. I love Rambo but he's no match for the Indestructible Terminator.

As far as appearance relative to representing the film character, I would say Medi Jango and Boba Fett, and HT Rambo and Endoskeleton are all level in quality. As for their quality as a figure, I'd have to say hands down the Endoskeleton is just a marvel and an incredible feat in the scale and style. Jango, Boba and Rambo look great, but they're not as intricate and complex to design, especially Rambo, which I love, but is almost a cookie cutter figure of 2 versions before it, but like the SSC Jabba, the Endo is going to alter what is and isn't possible to pull off successfully in 1/6 scale, where the other figures are just hallmarks of what's been done and working so far.

Why SSC Jabba? He's just a big mound of plastic, no intricate engineering of parts. the only thing he has going for him is size.

Jabba requires no intricate engineering. He's a giant slug that just sits there in ROTJ.

I'd have no problem putting the SSC Jabba in my Top Five 1/6 of the 2007 so far.

From what I've seen so far, it would be:

1. HT Endoskeleton
2 (tie). HT Rambo III
2 (tie). Medicom Jango Fett
4. Medicom Boba Fett
5. SSC Jabba

That's why I say that, he shows that an affordable, non $500 statue version of 1/6 creatures can be sculpted and produced with a film accurate look and add amazing pieces to the collection and will hopefully inspire Sideshow and the like to be more ambitious, and maybe gave inspiration to what for some hopefully will be an HT Queen Alien one day. Is he the most amazing figure ever, not necessarily, but he adds something to 1/6 figures as a market that could give us some impressive things to come down the road, which is just as good as being a kickass figure to have in hand.

Jabba is the most amazing 1/6 scale Star Wars figure released to date, imho. And it's not even close. Medicom ROTJ Vader and SSC Maul would be distant second and third.

Again, it doesn't matter that only his arms move because it's ROTJ Jabba.

Jabba is non-articulated except for the arms. They could have added some articulation to the torso, the tail, and even inculded a tongue like the old Kenner toy. It's just a big vinyl figure like a Koto or an Applause. Nice to look at but a pretty dull lump of plastic.

If they added some of the articulated elements you described it would be at the expense of a lot of accuracy (creases and obviously separated parts, etc).

Unless, of course, they made the whole thing out of soft rubber or something, which would haved opened up a whole other can of worms and blown away the VERY reasonable price point.

Besides, "dull" and "lump" pretty much describes Jabba anyway. :p

I dont even consider Jabba a figure. it's more of just a piece of the whole Diorama to me. It may has well just been a statue already.

I still don't see the big wow factor in Jabba. Yeah it's huge, but so are PFs.

Well, to steer things back on track, at the very least, the Rambo Trilogy figure collection will go out with a very big bang and I can't wait for him to come.

Go out? You don't think they'll produce any more figures from this line?

Agreed.

In fact, I was so excited after this thread and seeing the pics yesterday that I popped my RAMBO III DVD in last night.

I wonder if HT (or anyone else) will get the license for "JOHN RAMBO".

And I still want a Rocky in street clothes figure! (Leather jacket, hat, etc)
