You nailed it--
ESB for the simple fact that it's one of the greatest sci-fi movies period.
ANH as the classic and for nostalgic reasons it was the first one I saw in the theatre and one of my earliest childhood memories.
ROTS as we had that ultimate lightsaber fight and of the PT this one had action galore with some actual emotional punch--yes more of the breathing-challenged Vader would have been nice but what can you do?
ROTJ for Jabba and Lando heroic action--but man ewoks over wookies really hurt the possibilities.
TPM for Maul... and it yanked me back into collecting when now I have income and a way to grab what I want.
AOTC as the caboose unfortunately-- a good movie but maybe the reliance on CGI hurt the overall, Hayden's Anakin really not taking shape here, a distracting mullet, but on the plus you're got Yoda finally in action and a terrific final twenty minutes plus a cool character in Jango.

What specifically did you not like about the ESB:SE that knocked it so far back? The Emperor dialog?
Hey we made identical ranking. AOTC deserve to be rooted right at the bottom, the editing is really poor.

Ya know these kinds of comments just crack me up. Sure the PT isn't perfect but its not nearly as bad as some SW fans make it out to be. The same can be said the OT isn't nearly as perfect as those same fans want them to be. Both have plenty of flaws and the fans that can accept this are the ones that seem to really enjoy the trilogy.
Its probably a bit of being a dick but if you really believe things like the PT doesn't count then I can't really call you a SW fan. I'd liken you to a sports bandwagon fan that only talks up the teams that are hot.
